Times may have changed, my sister, but the needs of our children have not.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.” Proverbs 3:5-7

After ministering to my teenage son this morning, I hugged him, prayed for him and came in my bedroom and wept. So thankful to be used of God to reach my son to where I saw his countenance brighten right before my eyes. My tears were tears of gratitude for the anointing and wisdom to reach my children. My tears were tears for my sisters to let God use them in their first ministry call.

Our children are more important than any dating relationship, any business endeavor, any church servitude or ministry pursuit. They are our most important mission field. With anything God entrusts into our care, He equips us to care for. He gives us the anointing, the wisdom, the strength and grace. And now it is on us to agree with Him as mothers. Agree and follow the example of our Father.

Times may have changed, my sister, but the needs of our children have not. They still need our presence, our listening ear, our love, our gentle correction, our wisdom, encouragement and guidance. They still have a great need no matter how they appear. And the blessing is God daily loads us up with benefits so we can have to give to them. No matter the trauma of our past, no matter the dysfunctional home we grew up in, no matter the sins of our parents, the blood of Jesus covers it all. We can still be the mothers God our Father has called us to be. Let’s agree with the Lord today. Let’s receive His Holy Spirit help to minister to the needs of our children.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for ministering to my heart. Thank you for entrusting me with the most precious gifts a person can receive. I choose to agree with you. You have equipped me as a mother. You are with me as a mother. You direct me as a mother. I yield to your Spirit, and reject any lie from the enemy. Help me tend to the needs of my first ministry call. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
