A Special Prayer for You

“A Psalm of David. The LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want” Psalm 23:1, Amplified.

Father God, we love you. You care about all of your daughters and your sons. You’ve got our needs in mind. Help us, Lord, shift our focus right now from our needs to you. You tell us to not be unwise, but understand what your will is. Show us your will. Show us your way. Father, help us be led and guided by you in every single area of our lives. Father, I pray for my sisters and myself included that you will lead our lives, that you will be our Chief Shepherd. Help us follow after you. Help us not allow our needs to drive our lives, or drive our decisions. Help us let you drive our lives. Holy Spirit govern us and show us what to do, where to go, and what opportunities to take. We know, Lord, we shall not lack for anything.

According to Psalms 84:11, You are our sun, and you are our shield. You give grace, Lord, and you give glory. You promise that no good thing will you withhold from them who walk uprightly. And so we trust in that promise, Father God, that you are not withholding anything. We choose to let you lead and trust you to take care of our emotional needs, our spiritual needs, our physical needs, financial needs, and relational needs. We pray you lead us in our decisions and bless the outcome to be a win-win for everybody involved. We don’t want to just have our needs met and leave people in the dust behind us. We want everybody rejoicing, everybody feasting on your goodness. And so we receive the patience of the Holy Ghost, the patience of Christ. We receive divine patience while you grow people and grow us. We receive divine patience to wait on you while you do what only you can do. Our trust is in you, Father.

Forgive us for anytime we’ve let our need lead us and not your Holy Spirit. We receive your forgiveness, your grace and your mercy, and we ask that you lead us from here on out. When our needs starts screaming loud, Father, help us turn to you and to your promises. Let your word, Lord, be louder. Help us speak your word out of our mouths, Lord. You are our Shepherd, we shall not want. According to Philippians 4:19, you shall supply all of our need according to your riches and glory by Christ Jesus. That’s what your word tells us, Father God, and that’s what we believe. Our needs do not run our lives. You do. Our needs do not govern our choices, Father. You do. Our needs don’t dictate anything. You do. You do. You do, Father God. And we submit ourselves to you. We yield to you and to you alone and we trust you. Help us trust you in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen.
