Deborah arose, so will you.

“In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, and in the days of Jael, people avoided the main roads, and travelers stayed on winding pathways. There were few people left in the villages of Israel β€”until Deborah arose as a mother for Israel” Judges 5:6-7, New Living Translation.

Of all the women in Bible history, Deborah is the one I love reading about the most. She was remarkableβ€”a judge, a prophetess, a Psalmist, and a poet in 12th century B.C. With God’s help, she delivered the people of Israel out of the oppressive hand of a cruel enemy, causing God’s people to enjoy 40 years of peace and rest.

My sister, it is time to see yourself as God sees you.

As in the days of Deborah, people today avoid people and places. Travelers stay on winding pathways. Few people of God leave their homes out of fearβ€”until you arose as a mother, a sister, and a leader. God will use you to bring great damage to the kingdom of darkness and bring great peace and rest to the lives of God’s people.

As with Deborah, the Spirit of the Lord is resting mightily upon you now. Reach up and receive the healing of the Lord, the grace of the Lord, the creativity of the Lord, the wisdom of the Lord, and the strength of the Lord. Like Christ, you will not judge by what your eyes see, or decide by what your ears hear. God will help you hear His voice clearly and discern properly.

Deborah understood the times in which she lived, so will you. Deborah received spiritual wisdom and grace from God, so will you. Deborah fought and won, so will you. Deborah sang a song of victory when it was all said and done. My sister, so will you. You are that woman! Growing each day in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and with man.

Prayer: Thank you, Father God, for your hand on my life and your high calling. I accept it and walk in it. Your enemy is my enemy, and your friend is my friend. What you hate, I hate, and what you love, I love. You have been looking to and fro throughout the whole earth to show yourself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are perfect toward you. I’m hidden in Christ, and He was perfect in every way. Father, use me as you did with Deborah. Help me fulfill your plan and be all you created me to be. Be greatly glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Read Judges chapters 4 and 5; 2 Chronicles 16:9; Luke 2:52
