My sister, your prayers are powerful!

Prayer magnifies God, focuses you on Jesus, builds up and edifies your inner man, and makes you more sensitive to the voice of God. However, even with this understanding, some say, “Well, I know God hears other people’s prayers, but I’m not sure my prayers are getting through to Him.”

Truth is, if you have received the gift of salvation that only comes through Jesus, you can know for a fact that God hears you when you pray, and if you know He hears you, you know you have the petition you have requested of Him (see 1 John 5:15).

“Well, I’m not a prayer warrior like others. After one minute in prayer, I always fall asleep.” Well, until you are praying like a prayer warrior, join them and pray with the prayer warriors. A companion of wise men will be wise (see Proverbs 13:20). Their habit of prayer will eventually rub off on you. Praying for hours may not be what you are accustomed to, but don’t focus on the length of time. Hide the clock if you must, pace the floor if it helps you stay awake, but focus in on seeking God’s face.

“I know it’s important to pray, but I never have time.” From the time you wake up in the morning to the time you go to bed, the enemy is busy thinking of ways to steal, kill and destroy your life. You are Satan’s top priority, so a life of prayer must be your top priority. It’s only by God’s goodness and mercy that He blesses us even when we haven’t spent not one minute in prayer. But we aren’t to live each day on the sheer mercy of God. We are to thrive on His grace that only comes as a result of humbling ourselves.

“The problems in my life have been going on for so long that I have lost faith in the power of prayer. Seems like the more I pray, the worse it gets.” That’s exactly what the enemy wants you to think. So he designs his demonic attacks to worsen with every prayer you pray so that you will think prayer is futile and pointless. Don’t be deceived! Your prayers are powerful. Pray, pray, pray! You are built for supplication, designed to worship to God, made to intercede and pray always. Choose to accept God’s invitation to a continual life of prayer.

Prayer: Father God, you are my God and I am your daughter. You hear me when I pray. I pray that you continue to renew my mind to the power of prayer. Teach me how to develop a lifestyle of continual prayer to you, not out of religious duty or exercise, but for the right reasons. This world needs prayer and you have built me for the spiritual task. Thank you for giving me such a powerful gift that I can offer everyday of my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
