The Kindness of God

“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages He might display the surpassing riches of His grace, demonstrated by His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God…” Ephesians 2:6-8, Berean Study Bible

An aspect of God’s character and nature that is often overlooked is His kindness. Modern dictionaries define kindness as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. Webster’s 1828 Dictionary defines it as an act of good will, or any act of benevolence which promotes the happiness or welfare of others. Kindess is also one of the fruit of the Spirit. Why? Because it is easy to be kind to someone who is kind in return. We need the Spirit of God working in our hearts and removing all pride, fear and ugliness. The Spirit of God helps us come face to face with the undeserved kindness of God and it compels us to show the same. With His help, you will do good to those who have tried to ruin you. With His help, you will meet the need of someone who fought against you. You will experience true freedom through your acts of kindness. God is helping you overcome evil with good, and leave the outcome to Him. This is how you win. My sister, you are a bold and beautiful display of the infinite, limitless riches of God’s grace and kindness that was showered upon you in Jesus Christ!

Prayer: Father, I’m so thankful you for your constant love and kindness you’ve shown toward me. I did nothing to earn it, yet you continue to demonstrate your kindness in my life by loving me, forgiving me, and helping me. I humble myself right now to your will to show that same kindness to every single person. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  8. Soooooo what is the difference between setting healthy boundaries & self worth? I honor& respect the word, I just need to know the difference.
For example, I had a family member blatantly say, ” I knew I could do you wrong because you would forgive me” or co worker who have me hell by being maliciously pity when in a group setting. However, when we were one on on was so nice to me. She would even look me in my eyes & say” that kindness don’t work on me” I remember nice to her to the day I got promoted, yet there was a price to pay. Others thought they could do the same.
I know that was a lot but I was getting physically I’ll trying to be the sweet kind girl. I am still her with boundaries in place. I feel better and trust God don’t want me to be disrespected& ulcers either. Be blessed.

  9. P.s. I even had people to come and tell me what took you so long? I wish I was like you. By no means this message, but this stories in the comments. No, I don’t deserve to be mistreated, no matter what title they hold in my life.

  10. CORRECT ONE: What is the difference between setting healthy boundaries & self worth? I honor& respect the word, I just need to know the difference?

I know that was a lot but I was getting physically ill trying to be the sweet kind girl. I have healthy boundaries in place. I feel better and trust God don’t want me to be disrespected& ulcers either. Be blessed.

  11. I have found out through the pain of rejection and out right being mean that as I took those hurtful wounds and prayed with a close prayer partner that as I out loud asked the lord to forgive me if there was any thing in my heart that needed to go that he would forgive me and then I would ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to release it from my heart and out of the act of my will I chose to give it to the lord and renounced it from my soul and then I would ask the lord to fill those places in my heart with his oil and wine his love and his anointing to to walk in his love when something would come up to try to still my victory and I would pray for that person that the lord would forgive this person for all there sins and I prayed for there salvation and that the father would bring his loving kindness into there lives to hopefully let them taste his love that brings us to repentance,I know sometimes there are different prayers depending on the heart of the person !In his grace I pray for those who read this can have victory! In Jesus name amen!

  12. I struggle with living my dad who has such a hard heart from the era of post slavery and did well for himself after leaving the South as a young man to join the military. He holds his adult children to his past and does not see us as extentions of himself so it’s hard to have love for that kind of hard heartedness! I ask God to show me how to love him and forgive him for his unloving ways toward his children and grandchildren! God is working on my heart!

  13. Loving Lord, I praise and honour your powerful Name. For your wonderful. Love to me throughout my life. Lord help me to continue trusting, obeying your will. And allow your holy spirit’s ruling in my heart, loving and showing kindness to others. A blessed week to all my sisters. May God’s love draw us closer to Him continually.
