“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble” James 4:6, ESV.
When a jar is too hard for me to open I call on my husband. I need his strength to do what I can’t do on my own. I call on him like it’s second nature, and he comes to my aid right away.
The grace of God operates much in the same way. The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Grace. He is our Helper, Strengthener, and Standby, who helps us do what is impossible for us to do on our own: like forgive someone that has hurt us, fulfill a calling amid pressures to quit, love those around us unconditionally, live in the moment, and not forget the truth and power of God’s Word.
In my spiritual walk, I am learning day by day to call on Grace when something proves too difficult for me. I want to be proactive and shout, “Grace!!!!! I need you!”
It’s okay to let someone stronger than you help you. Call on God’s Grace to help you, and He will come to your aid right away.
Prayer: God I need Your Grace!!!! I can’t do this alone. It’s too much for me to handle, but nothing’s too much for You Lord. Help me with Your Grace and Power! Strengthen me, Lord to do what You’re asking of me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
