“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile” Romans 1:16, NIV.
When God tells us to not be ashamed of the gospel, I believe He is not only referring to the message itself, but the people He’s called us to reach with the gospel.
Maybe you come from a background of drug and alcohol abuse. There are many struggling with addiction who need to hear the gospel message. Who would best reach them than you? Don’t be ashamed of them. Maybe you come from a background of mental illness and emotional disorders. There are many who need to be reached from someone that understands exactly what they’re going through. Don’t close your heart to them!
It is God’s desire that every person has the opportunity to know Him. He desires that none perish, but that all are saved and come into a true and real knowledge of Jesus! The question is, will you stand for His Kingdom cause no matter where He sends you?
Do the work of an evangelist and make full proof of the ministry God has given to you. Don’t be ashamed of the people He has called you to reach!
Prayer: Yes, Lord. I receive your word. I am your servant, and I’m here to do whatever you ask of me and go wherever you ask me to go. Forgive me if I’ve ever been ashamed of where you brought me from. Fill me with your Holy Ghost power and use me to reach the people you send me to. Help me to do my part in advancing your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
