“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:6-7, Berean Study Bible.
My oldest daughter missed church on Sunday. When she messaged me later explaining why she wasn’t there, thoughts came that said, she needs to check her priorities. Thoughts came that said, if she can’t prioritize coming to church, we’re taking the car. Thoughts came that said, it’s that boy she’s dating. He’s the reason she wasn’t at church. Thoughts came that said, Oh, Lord, what’s going on with my child? I started a message but I did not press send. Thank God I did not press send. Hours later, after I came to my senses, I responded, “We missed you but we do understand. We love you.”
I tell you, when I choose fear rather than to trust God, I become that woman you don’t want to know. I start trying to control everything and manipulate people and outcomes. In that mind frame, I do not act anything like a daughter of God at all. But I’m so thankful God has been renewing my mind and transforming me. Helping me see I have nothing to fear because my life and everything in it is in His care.
God is in control when things feel out of control, my sister. We don’t have to resort to being controlling or manipulative out of fear. That only make matters worse. We can trust God to do what only He can. We can trust God to save our family and grow them in their faith. All God wants from us right now is our trust. Please don’t send that text and don’t leave that voicemail until you come to your senses. You don’t have to operate in fear to try to get a desired result. I know you’re scared. God knows, and He’s working on it. We can trust Him.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust you. Forgive me for any fear I’ve been operating in. I receive your love and forgiveness. You did not give me a spirit of fear, or a mind to control or manipulate. You gave me a spirit of power, of love and a sound mind, and that is what I receive. Help me come to my senses about these issues of life and respond in a way that pleases you. I place everything in your hands. Care for these things in my life that mean so much to me. I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This devotional is profound and timely. Sometimes I think I am in faith but have a lot of concerns. Thank you for helping me to check myself and be careful of what I am thinking of and focus on. Blessings, Shalom and Agape πππ½πππ½β₯οΈ

GOD IS IN CONTROL WHEN THINGS FEEL OUT OF CONTROL!
I needed that word. Thank you
Wow, this was truly for me! Lord, please lead me in the direction that focuses on trusting in You! Because of past experiences, I have a tendency to think that my current circumstances will revert to the old ones. This in turn causes friction. I will trust in You for You did not create me to worry or fear. βοΈβ₯οΈππΎ
Good morning Father God, God of Peace! Thank You Father for being in control, cause Lord knows, we can’t do it! I shared this message with my Mom this morning because she is controlling all the time, with everything and to everyone! My prayer is that You help her to see that she does not have to be in control Father God! I pray in Jesus Christ name, Amen!ππΎππΎππΎ
Iβm walking in that now and itβs that restraining of oneself that saves the situation because the good Lord knows itβs only a misspoken word thatβs waiting to be said to derail the trainβ¦..WISDOM and OBEDIENCE is a must!
