God is making you into a courageous woman!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” Joshua 1:9, NKJV.

“Courage comes from a heart that is CONVINCED it is loved”
– Beth Moore

I remember when my husband and I went skydiving for the first time. My mother was so afraid for us that she asked if whether we wanted to give her power of attorney of our children just in case we didn’t survive the jump. I remember laughing out loud and reassuring her that she had nothing to worry about. When we arrived on site, we received a quick course on how to skydive, then they strapped us in our harness, and we got on the plane. As we climbed higher and higher in altitude, with our skydiving instructor hooked onto our backs, I remember thinking, “What in the world am I doing?!” But there was no turning back now. I pretended to be brave, but on the inside I was scared. They opened the door to the plane, and my instructor yelled, “It’s time!” He began to push me forward in the way someone who has jumped a million times would. I got to the edge of the door, and he said, “Jump!” I took a deep breath, moved forward and rolled out of the plane into the wide open air. Then my instructor noticed I was holding on to my harness (for dear life). So he tapped my hands and out went my arms like an eagle. I was flying!

God wants to make you into a courageous woman. It doesn’t mean you will never feel afraid ever again. It means even in the midst of fear, you will obey God. That, my friend, is courage. It is following God no matter how afraid you feel because you know God loves you and He will never let you down.

The more you grow in Him, the more He will continue to challenge you. He will help you confront every fear. He will have you do things you’ve never done and will instruct you to step out on faith in ways you never have before—all to teach you how to live by faith instead of fear.

Prayer: Father, make me into a strong, brave, courageous and confident woman. I’m tired of living in fear; I want to live by faith. Help me LORD to believe that I am who you say I am, I have what you say I have, and I can do what you say I can do by your grace and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
