“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him” James 1:5, NKJV.
Lord, why am I here?
Lord, what do you want me to tell them?
Lord, what is your purpose for my life?
Lord, how do I do this?
Lord, when do you want me to go?
Lord, how do I love like you?
Lord, how do I lead these people?
Lordβ¦
Did you know God loves it when you ask Him questions? It’s an attribute of a child. Jesus told His disciples anyone who wants to be great in the kingdom of heaven must first humble themselves and become like a child (see Matthew 18:4). Children love to ask questions.
I believe we as God’s people are in a season of learning. We are in a season where God is pouring out wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to anyone who wants to receive it. Don’t miss out on what God wants to impart to you in this season. Sit before Him in prayer and ask your questions. Open your Bible and ask your questions. Go throughout your day and ask your questions. Some questions He will respond to right away and some you will have to wait for, but still ask, my sister.
Most often we sin due to our own ignorance and failure to ask. We assume and end up making mistakes that cost us plenty. This is why He says if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God. He won’t look down on you as though you should already know. Instead, He will graciously pour His wisdom out on you and increase you in knowledge and understanding. The more you know, the more you will grow. The more you know about His nature and character, the more you will trust and obey Him.
Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking to my heart. I humble myself right now realizing that I need you. Give me the heart of David, that loves to seek you. Give me a heart that is hungry for your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Give me a humble and teachable spirit that turns to you with all of my questions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
(Study Proverbs 2:3-6; Jeremiah 33:3)
