Jesus is Your Anchor

“Thus by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be strongly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure…” Hebrews 6:18-19a, Berean Study Bible

An anchor doesn’t necessarily keep a boat in place as an anchor alone. The anchor must be let down into the water, and then when the winds come, causing the ship to move, the anchor digs deep into the sand. Without the wind, the anchor doesn’t dig into the sand, and without the anchor, the boat would be driven by the wind and tossed.

My sister, God may be allowing winds to come your way, but know this, Jesus is the anchor of your soul, and the strong winds will only prove this to be true. No outward conditions can move you from your place in Him. You have placed your trust in the Lord, and the winds are causing your anchor to deepen.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, that you hold on to me. When I feel too weak to hold on to you, you’re holding on to me tightly. Thank you for allowing the winds to deepen my trust in you. Nothing can move me from my place in you, and no one can pluck me from your hand. No one. I will not be tossed and carried away by any external conditions because you’ve got me safe, secure, and steady in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Thank you for this reminder….last night I cried and cried to the Lord about all the things going on, winds blowing around me but my anchor and foundation are in You Jesus.
During the night I was reminded of this in Ephesians 1:11 NKJV
β€œβ€¦.being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,”
Today I will carry those words with me, β€œwho works all things according to the counsel of His will”
Thank You God for giving me words to live by and live on.

  2. Glory to God For he is my strong, foundation, I am secured knowing you are holding me tight. Challenging life deepens our faith in you.

  3. Thank you for the reminder that as I continue to anchor myself in the Lord, I can all things through Christ that strengthens me. Blessings, Shalom and Agape πŸ‘€πŸ™πŸ½β™₯οΈπŸ“–πŸ™ŒπŸ½

  4. 🎢We have an anchor that keeps the soul, steadfast and sure as the billows roll. Fasten to the rock that cannot move, grounded firm and deep in the saviour’s love 🎢 πŸ™πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

  5. He is my firm foundation
    My anchor won’t be moved
    Storms may collide
But my soul is on fire with His Word

This is from one of my favorite songs, β€œNever Lost, β€œ and I’m continually reminded to set these words in my heart and soul despite all the wind and rain that is currently occurring in my life. When we are weak, He is strong! Thank you, Jesus β™₯️
