“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5, KJV)
For years I had allowed myself to have an undisciplined thought life and was preoccupied and consumed with all kinds of thoughts. I had grown so accustomed to it that I thought it was normal. But God revealed to me that His will is soundness of mind.
A sound mind is a calm mind, peaceful, focused and clear. It can only be received through Christ. In writing to the believers in Philippi, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” “Let” denotes an action on our part.
If we want to experience peace of mind, we must practice putting on the mind of Christ. Put on the mind of Christ by receiving what God has said about who you are and what He has called you to do. We put on the mind of Christ by choosing to cast down vain imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ. This will enable us to walk focused and be kept in perfect peace.
Challenge: Set your clock and at every fifteen minute mark speak out of your mouth, “I cast down vain imaginations and every high thing that is trying to exalt itself against the knowledge of God and I bring into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ. I put on the mind of Christ.” This will help develop a godly habit of taking authority over your mind.
Prayer: Father God I choose to put on the mind of Christ. I want peace of mind and soundness. I want to be focused, sober and vigilant. I receive the mind of Christ and the peace of Christ. I receive your thoughts and your ways of doing things. In Jesus name. Amen.
