Tell them to rejoice!

“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Philippians 4:4

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12-13

While in prayer one morning, I asked God what He wanted me to tell the DOTK family. He said, “Tell them to rejoice!” I said, “Lord, how can I tell them to rejoice? Rejoice about what? So many are hurting right now. It seems like the last thing they want to do.” Then He said, “The last thing they want to do is rejoice, but rejoicing in Me is what I want them to do.” And just like that, the Lord helped me understand. It’s not what we rejoice about, it’s Who we rejoice in.

My sister, you may feel as though you have nothing to rejoice about right now, but the truth is, you always have a reason to rejoice in the Lord. Even when your situation doesn’t feel good, and things don’t look good or the news doesn’t sound good, your Father God is good. He is true and He is faithful. Our rejoicing gives way to heartfelt worship, it gives way to sacrificial praise that brings about a breakthrough. I tell you, I’ve had to rejoice when I didn’t see any manifestation. It was an act of my faith in God.

So it is with you, my sister. Your rejoicing is an act of your faith. It puts your entire focus away from your problems and onto God. It magnifies God and brings Him on the scene.

Prayer: Father God, I rejoice in your goodness, your truth and your faithfulness. You are my mighty God! Let praise arise in me and lift all heaviness from me. Help me continue to rejoice no matter what. I know you are my God and you won’t let me down. You will do everything you’ve promised. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. I woke up this morning crying a little as I looked up in the ceiling, and saw visions I can’t explain but I believe it was God’s way of showing me that he’s near. A feeling came over me and I began to smile and words came out of my mouth that weren’t rehearsed. I woke up rejoicing for reasons I do not know and then I saw this post and I smiled again and began to thank God for awakening me with his unfailing and satisfying love.
