You will use your gifts—every one.

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” Romans 11:29

“Lift ev’ry voice and sing
‘Til earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the list’ning skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on ’til victory is won”

This song, which began as a poem written by James Weldon Johnson, was put to music by his brother John Rosamond Johnson in 1900. Who would have imagined a song written for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday celebration, sung by 500 students, would become such a beautiful national treasure. These two brothers used their God-given talents and gifts to bless not only a people but the world.

Heard the Lord say, the end is near, but not yet. There are more souls to be won. It’s time to use every gift He’s placed within you. Use every natural and spiritual gift to reach the lost. No matter how long you have sat on your gift and chosen not to use it, His gifts and calling are still there, and have tremendous power to do a great work for God’s glory.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, I praise you for the gifts and calling from you. Help me develop these gifts and use them for your purpose. Be glorified in the earth and be glorified in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Ephesians 2:10; 1 Timothy 4:14-16)

  5. Sometimes developing and using gifts can be a challenge due to circumstances and things that block such as disabilities or characteristics eg. Social Anxiety. So I pray we can find ways to overcome both internal and external obstacles and see the way more clearly to do so. Also with so many theoretical ways to use several opportunities or gifts, discernment to prioritize which ones is needed. I pray we get help for this.
