What Happened to You

“We are hard pressed on all sides, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.…” 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, Berean Study Bible.

Have you ever reflected on who you were 10, 20 years ago and asked yourself, “What happened to me?” Maybe you used to be full of life, so happy and free, and now you feel so unlike yourself and frustrated with everyone and everything. Life happens to all of us, causing us to suffer temporary memory loss. But when we forget who we are, the Lord always has a special way of helping us remember. He takes us on a journey that brings all things back to our remembrance. He recalls to our spirit and minds our identity.

My sister, you may have been knocked down, but you are not destroyed. No matter how you feel, there’s a great woman of God within you. No matter the mistakes you’ve made, you’re still a precious daughter of God. You are who He says you are, and you can do what He says you can do. You have what He says you have, and you will be what He has declared you will be!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for loving on me when I’ve lost sight of who I am. Help me remember. I’m not who the enemy says I am. I’m who you say I am. Bring me back to your original design for my life. Please open my eyes and help me see what you’ve wanted me to see. My trust is in you! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. I am so happy I not who I use to be. I not who I use to be, but, not where/who I want to be. It is true, I let the cares of the world to pull me down. I have been trying to get up and it myself back together through Christ Jesus. Thank you Sis. Kesha this is a on time devotional. Much needed. Blessings, Shalom and Agape.🙏❤🙏❤🙏

  2. Good Morning Sister Kesha!!! These are scripture verses that I go to when life happens, and they encourage us to remember that The Lord is our Strength and Salvation. To remind me how long He have been with me and for me in this life many issues I have come through by Him covering me. He is building us up to be what and who He wants us to be as His daughters. It’s evidence for me to know that He is “Good and Just”, that we’re forgiven. That He will go to any length to get our attention, knowing He Is “The Author and Finisher” of our lives and no one can pluck us out of His hands, just as long as we do our part.
Thank you for the reminder of where I came from and the encouragement to press on to that expected end. In The Name Above Every Name Jesus Christ. Amen.🙏💞

  4. Thank u for this post I like it. We need to hear it. When as a teen u finally escape abusive toxic family, life is carefree n full of hope. Then further trauma, disasters, health issues turn u into a shell of a person. The older u get the less hope. Things seem more ingrained n less likely to change. Hope is essential to change situation. Without hope, can’t motivate to try. Then depression spiral as things stay bad or get worse. But – optimistic posts like this alone can’t help much, sorry. But I’m trying to make things better but it’s hard when enemy attacking constantly from all sides, plus literally completely alone n isolated from any help, since healthcare system is also abusive for example.
It’s pointless and hopeless but suicide is frowned upon by Christianity therefore God tortures me but forcing me to go thru hell until I die, likely abused by low paid staff in a government care home. But hopefully die before forced into one.
But thank u for post I keep reading cuz it does help

  5. Sister, God loves you and he is not torturing you. You are being tortured by oppressive spirits from your past.

You need to look back as far as you can and identify every spirit a door was opened for. Rejection, fear, generational curses, sickness, suicide, etc. Go through that list and speak to each one like this “I command the spirit of depression to loose me and let me go in the name of Jesus” Get help from a fellow believer if you need boldness. You will feel the weight of them come off and sometimes you’ll see physical signs of them leaving, like a yawn, burp, even vomit… but be ready for freedom!
After this pray to the Holy Spirit to fill you and He will. He will be your greatest comfort and guide.
    I’m praying for you!

  6. I miss reading this devotional and the Holy Spirit had me go back to read it. I just began to cry because sometimes you do so much in the kingdom and for others you ask yourself. God I’m I pleasing you. This devotional answered that question in this devotional. Thank you Mrs Tripett for being lead by God Spirit. This is just what I needed to hear from God.

  7. Thanks Sister Kesha, I know what happened to me, LIFE HAPPENED TO ME, whether volunterily or involuntarily IT HAPPENED. But by the Grace of God, I Pray that He will see me through to my expected end❣️

  8. Amen. Thank you Lord for this message. Bless all who read it. Jesus, I am struggling in this world today. Our freedoms are going fast, the propoganda is heating up and I am afraid. They are coming for those who stand in Gods truth and I am one of those. Help me Lord to withstand this storm and under your wings I can hide.
