Who are you sharing your secrets with?

“The secret of the LORD is for those who fear Him, And He will make them know His covenant” Psalm 25:14, NASB.

The Lord shares His secrets with those who deeply revere Him and love Him. He confides in them and makes His covenant known. My sister, in reading this, I asked, who are we sharing our secrets with? Have they proven themselves to be faithful and true? Samson found himself confiding in the wrong person. Delilah was conspiring with the enemy to capture him, and here he was telling her everything. There was something about her that weakened his will. Maybe it was her beauty and her smooth words. Whatever it was, our brother ended up with his eyes gouged-out, grinding grain in a dungeon. No more confiding in the wrong people who do not have our best at heart. We will imitate our Father and share our secrets, share our dreams and things God has shown us regarding our destiny with those who love us and are faithful and true.

Prayer: Father, help me be spiritually discerning and wise. Strengthen me when I want to share secrets too soon. Help me imitate you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Amen! Yes, Holy Father who is all knowing increase our Spiritual discernment and wisdom to know who we should be in partnership with in our prayer life in this season Father. Let us not be deceived and disrmed like Samson was but grace us to be wise in our patience Father to wait for people to show themselves approved and sent by You. Wise in our hearing Father to test everything that is said to us that is fashioned to sound good but isn’t trustworthy Father God. Lord posture our hearts to be fully submitted unto Your will and Your Spirit that makes the devil flee when we resist his distractions in the form of relationships, opportunities and through people. Strengthen us to hold fast and tight to what is good, pure and true!

  2. Thank you for sharing the Lord’s heart on this matter. Recently, I sensed the Lord leading me to not share secrets with someone. It does not mean that the person is bad or wishes me ill, but maybe there is something in them that makes them an unsafe person to share with in this season. I sense the Lord is saying, their sincerity must be proven and tested by fire. Also, I sense the Lord is saying there are things I want to share with you that I want to stay between us to deepen my intimacy with you. This devotional is confirmation. I will heed and obey.

  6. I will admit I fail miserably in this area. I tend to share things, sometimes too much with the wrong people and then wonder why things never work out for me. Thank you for this timely devotional.

  7. Lord, please help me to be more in tuned with You. Allow me to know when it’s time to speak and act and when I should be still and listen. I believe I may have experienced (twice in one day) the peace of when you understand that you don’t always have to share your opinions…and I liked it! My emotions and character were in tact, and I can honestly say, I was pleasing in Your sight. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™ŒπŸ½ Help me to stay on the path of righteousness and repentance.

  8. Jesus my Eternal Father and Jehovah my Grand Father I thank you for hiding these from the wise and prudent and revealing this to the β€œbabes”. The very things Angels honking about desire to peer into!
