When God told Jonah, an Old Testament prophet, to go and deliver a message to the people of Ninevah, Jonah ran in the opposite direction. He chose to sail for Tarshish instead. Have you ever tried running from God? If you have, you already know that you don’t get very far. Jonah’s refusal to obey God’s command caused a great storm, endangering the lives of those on board.
When the sailors discovered that Jonah was the cause of the storm, Jonah told them who he was and what he had done. He then told them that if they threw him overboard, the sea would grow calm. They tossed him overboard and God calmed the sea. Sitting there in the belly of a whale, God visited Jonah and gave him the same command, go to Ninevah and deliver My message.
No matter where we go, my sister, there’s no escaping the call of God on our lives. We can travel to a far distant land or try to hide in the darkest places of the world, yet God will find us and His assignment for our lives will be the same. When God calls us, He knows that there is a specific group of people that we are designed to reach. He has them in mind. Therefore, it’s always best to simply say, “Yes, Lord. I’ll go.”
Prayer: Father, I receive your assignment for my life. There’s no escaping it. I embrace it and I say “yes” to You and “no” to the enemy. I submit to you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Wow, I literally was just having a conversation with a loved one. I told them that this year will not go by without me starting what God told me to start. Confirmation! Thank you for your obedience, woman of God. Fulfilling your life’s commission is blessing so many. I hope to meet you one day. If I don’t meet you on this earth, surely, I will meet you one day in the new heaven and earth. Blessings to you and your family. May the Lord continue to use you.
