You Can Relearn

“…let it be the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but] is very precious in the sight of God” 1 Peter 3:4, Amplified.

“I use to have a teachable and quiet spirit. Then I experienced life and became a mad woman. Now I’m having to relearn everything.” Ah man. Can you relate to that statement? Well, I sure can and so could Naomi. She left for Moab with her husband and her two sons until a famine in Bethlehem-Judah subsided. Trusting her man…like so many of us wives do. Her husband ended up dying and so did her two sons. The only people left were the two women her sons had married while in Moab. Naomi understood what it felt like to leave hopeful and return bitter.

Maybe your first marriage started with high hopes and left you hurt and angry. Maybe your first “true” friendship scared the living daylights out of you causing you to never trust women again. Maybe you trusted your husband’s financial decision would land you and the kids in the Promised Land and well, let’s just say things didn’t turn out as you expected.

Even when we experience hurts and disappointments in life, God is still teaching great lessons. If we can only take our minds off of the problem, we would see a Master Problem Solver at work in our lives. With His help, we can relearn how to have a teachable and quiet spirit that trusts in the LORD. He is busy making something good out of the situations in our lives!

Prayer: Lord, I absolutely love how you speak to me. Help me relearn how to be teachable and quiet in my soul. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
