As I Have Loved You

“This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. ” John 15:12

Take a moment and think about those words from Jesus…”as I have loved you.” Then ask yourself, how has the LORD loved me?

As much as you want to stay angry and resentful, or as much as you want to be impatient and give up on people who are trying, remember how God has loved you. Has He stayed angry with you? Has He held on to your past mistakes? Has He been impatient with your growth and development? Has He ever disowned and disinherited you? Has He ever not loved you? The answer to all of these questions is an emphatic, “no”. He has been faithful even when you’ve been faithless.

When you feel incapable of loving others, it’s an indicator that you aren’t receiving God’s love for yourself. Those who struggle with forgiving others, struggle with receiving God’s total forgiveness in their own lives.

As He has loved you daughter of God, love each other. As He have forgiven you, forgive others. As He’s been patient with you and your growth, be patient with others.

When we see the sun, we expect to see its light and feel its warmth. When we see a believer in whom the Spirit of God dwells, we expect to see God’s light and feel the warmth of His love.

Prayer: Father God, thank You for speaking directly to my heart about Your love. I am deeply grateful for how You have loved me. I receive Your love and I pray You help me show it to others today. When I feel empty of love, help me remember to come to You and be filled to the overflow. I pray Your love is seen and felt through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read John 13:34; 1 Corinthians 13)

  3. This devotional was a needed blessing for this day. A reminder that christ has forgiven me, but have I truly accepted it? Bathed in it? 1 Corinthians 13 provided new insight for me on how I should prioritize Love. I have been rude abd unbecoming. I’ve also kept a record of wrongs. However, love thinks the best. It bears all things, believes all things abd hops for all things and endures all things. Love will not fail. Lord I recieve this message today. Help me to believe in Love and your forgiveness again. May I embody, nurture it and pass it on today, in your name. Amen

  4. 6. Sister Kesha, thank you very much for this devotional!!! It made me examine myself even more and see where more growth is needed and where I have grown. Then, it shows me how to work/use the “Gift of Mercy” in every situation even the more. Having discretion with being “Slow to Anger” and “Quick to Forgive” thinking first to have VICTORY!!! To show His Unconditional Love!!! I agree with this prayer and I ask In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen. 🛐🛐🛐❤️❤️❤️

    God bless 💕💐💜💕💐💜💕💐💜💕💐💜

  7. LORD, probably YOU will see this since I’m finding it so hard to pray right now. Im dealing with a lot of complexities, uncovering secrets, old wounds. It hurts, the uncertainties, the mistakes. But I know there’s a Devine purpose in all of this. Help me find it. Help me offer love and grace. Help us heal and please Father, remind me of Your love.

  10. How I thank you, my King so “entitling” me to be worthy to be able to “see” what so many others could only hope to see, You! For now I know “partly” but then I shall know fully even as I am “fully” known by GOD! Not even my spouse is privy as to this!
