And Be Ye Thankful

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Colossians 3:15

Instead of focusing on what’s not going right in your life, choose to focus on what is going right. Scripture says, “And be ye thankful,” but what is true thankfulness? It is thanking God for who He is, for what He’s already done, and for what is growing like it should. My sister, you may have children and one of them is causing trouble. Don’t spend all of your time trying to straighten him/her out while you neglect to praise, reward and love on the children that are doing well. You may have friends and one of them is not loving you right. Don’t spend all of your time hurt over her that you neglect to nurture and love on the friends that are loving you.

Our lives suffer when we fail to celebrate the areas that are working, that are functioning, that are growing. It’s like a garden. If one flower is withering, you don’t spend all of your time on the withering flower and neglect to water and care for the flowers that are blossoming. If you do, you won’t have a garden at all. If you focus only on the problems, you won’t have a life at all. You are blessed and the Lord expects you to be thankful. Don’t spend another day in worry and care over things you can do nothing to change. Celebrate the goodness of the Lord, my sister. Let’s have a heart of deep gratitude for what is working. It will give God room to repair what’s broken by His Spirit and power. Only He can change it and make all things new.

“And be ye thankful”, God says.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. I receive your wisdom. Thank you for all you have done in my life. Because of you, I am blessed. You have given me life and a real relationship with you. Thank you with all my heart! I rejoice in you and your work that you are accomplishing in me, through me, and around me. I trust you with every relationship and situation that is not working or growing like it should. I pray you touch those areas and bring glory to Your Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  1. I am very thankful for all that the Lord, God Almighty, our Heavenly Father does for me. It had not been for the Lord, where will I be. Thank you for the reminder. Blessings, Shalom and Agape 👀🙏🏽♥️📖🙌🏽
