With an army of Egyptians behind them and a body of water in front of them, the Lord commanded Moses to tell the people of Israel to be still. God’s command to be still is a posture of the heart. It is a resolve of the mind to trust God. Let’s be still in doing things in our own ability. In our heart, mind and soul, let’s be still, my sister. I speak stillness into the core of our being. We will see the salvation of the Lord. We will see the one we have built our lives on will not fail us. We will see Him do what we have not been able to do.
When our faith is being challenged, God’s command does not change. He is still saying, be still. Be still. Be still. Be at rest. Remember the Lord our God. Remember His saving power does more than save our soul. The Lord is always saving us, delivering us and mightily rescuing us from seen and unseen danger. It is the Lord our God who fights for us. We need only to be still.
Prayer: Father, I receive your word that you have spoken to my heart. You want me to be still and trust you right now. I receive the help of your Holy Spirit to do just that. Calm my emotions and remove all fear, doubt and unbelief. I will see your salvation. I will see your great deliverance. You are the same God. Just as you saved me before, you will save again. Just as you healed me before, you will heal again. Just as you rescued me before, you will rescue again. You are my heavenly Father who loves me. I love you and I trust you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
