We can do everything right by praying, serving, and giving, but still not produce God’s visible fruit in our lives. We can wonder why is it that others are walking in God’s favor and are experiencing victory and not us. The answer is found in God’s Word.
“And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.” Luke 8:14
“Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful” Matthew 13:22, NKJV.
“Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful” Mark 4:18-19, NKJV.
The word “choke” in these verses means to strangle completely, to literally drown, and to crowd (as to suffocate).
Every Word that you have received from the Lord, He desires that it comes to pass in your life. Do not let His Word be choked by your cares. Let it produce fruit. Don’t give ear to the voice of fear, doubt, and unbelief. The enemy is after the seed of God’s Word. Don’t let him steal it. Keep God’s Word before your eyes. Understand that God is your exceeding great reward. As long as you have Him, you have everything you need. Trust Him by placing your entire well-being into His hands. It is His desire to prosper you and give you His kingdom. It is His desire that you set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Know that He is pulling the plug on the enemy’s entire operation in your life. No longer will fear and worry run your life. He is setting up an operation of His Spirit in your heart and mind. He is building your faith and your confidence in Him. You will go forth! You will bear fruit! You will walk in His promises! You will see victory, after victory, after victory in your life! Your faith will not be based upon your circumstances. Your faith will be based on God’s promises and His immense love for you!
Prayer: Yes, Lord. I receive your Word in my heart. Forgive me for doubting you, and for being full of worry and cares. I should know by now that you care about every detail of my life. I should know better than to doubt you. Teach me how to place my entire well-being into your hands. Thank you for being so good and merciful. Help me be patient and trust you like I never have before while you bring your promises to pass. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
