Don’t go there.

“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” Romans 12:21

Some people are like kids on an elevator, they will push every emotional button on you, never realizing they are being used by the enemy. When everything in you wants to react in a negative way, don’t go there. Walk away. Remember, whoever overcomes you controls you (see 2 Peter 2:19).

There have been times I have literally cried in my time alone with God because He wanted me to love someone I wanted to hate. He wanted me to do good when I wanted to get even. I wanted to be overcome by evil and show that I’m not a doormat, but His Spirit within me wouldn’t let me go there. Oh thank God for the Holy Ghost! Oh thank God for His help in keeping our flesh under! When God’s Spirit truly lives in us, we can’t do whatever we want to do and say whatever we want to say. We submit to God’s rule in our hearts, saying “Yes” to Him no matter how we feel about it (see Colossians 3:15).

My sister, you have influence in this world. Someone, even if it’s one person, is watching you and your example. Don’t give evil nonsense a moment of your time. It’s not worth it. Receive God’s help to overcome evil with good. Choose to live the life God has called you to live. Move forward into doing what He has purposed you to do. Remember, don’t go there!

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for the help of your Holy Spirit. You loved me enough to put your Spirit within me to guide me through life. When everything in me wants to act ugly, help me Lord to stay in the Spirit and not go there. I rebuke all strife and wrath and I yield to no other spirit but yours. Be glorified in me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  3. This is speaking to me. I have been going through a tough time working with someone who hurt me, but I’m praying God will help me keep my cool, and even more than that, help me to respond pleasantly instead of showing all the bitterness I feel.

  4. Oh boyyy, Sister Kesha you’re reading my mind again. 😁 Please allow me to be honest. This is a hard one for me.. My eldest daughter and I were discussing this with my husband. You’re so right, and I need to get it right. When we know better we do better.
    Peace and Blessings ✝️♥️🙏🏾

  5. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Father, I thank You for Your leading and guidance by Your Holy Spirit with words of wisdom. I do needed to hear this today for my words haven’t been nice. No excuses I know, and I’m not trying to have one. Yesterday individuals rolled down there car window to point their fingers as if they were shooting at me as I’m simply driving the speed limit with no getting in front of cars or switching lanes. That was such a shock to me and I got angry. I shared with the person that I wanted to go after them, but thank God, He kept me!!! That wasn’t the only incident driving. Help me, Father, to not go there and always be ready to overcome evil with good. In The Name of Jesus. Amen. 🙏🙏🙏

Sister Kesha, thank you for this message that spoke volumes giving me godly instructions.
    ❤️💐❤️💐

  6. Sister Kesha
I so needed to read this and be reminded. I have my family and my kids watching me on how I react towards my husband’s negative attitude towards life and his put downs. God has a purpose for me in this family and marriage. I need to walk away more and get in prayer instead of reacting to the negative comments. I live your daily devotions and it helps me every day! God bless!

  7. I thank God right now in this moment. With tears in my eyes and anger in my heart. I was about to go there. But God! Thank you for allowing him to use you. Thank you God for reminding me of who I Am

  8. AMEN!! We must keep our flesh under subjection. It is a fight but we can’t give evil a foot hole.
    Thank you! 💓💛❤️

  9. Awesome. Thank you. I so needed to read this. Thank you for sharing. I’m now signed up to read a devotional I’m so blessed to have met you

  10. I hear you Lord. They killed my husband and its hard for me to sit silently and patiently. The pain that the kids and I have everyday, doesn’t seem fair when they go back to their normal lives. Please give me the strength to keep my sanity through all of this. Watching my kids endure pain and heartbreak is the hardest. Thank you Lord for the lesson in adversities.

  11. Amen Father God have your way in me and Jesus name Amen again 🙏🏽 ❤

  12. Hi if I would have read this early Sunday morning before church I would have walked into my situation differently thank you for sharing
I had an incedent that took place that another church member was offended with me and he didn’t want me taking his photo for our ministers wall well not just a photo but by me we had another person take it
And it was not a pretty sight Infront of everyone at church so I let the other person step in and I walked away
But after all said and done I couldn’t leave it alone my spirit kept reminding me let no one come between me and my Father and don’t be mad or angry so I walked up the the person and said I am sorry if I offended you and left it at that
And I was able to worship
And this person was my x husband
Yeah we go to the same church but he is still bitter and mad with me
Please help me pray he will forgive me I have already forgiven him
I don’t want anyone or anything keeping me from my Father that distance can be so big with unfirgivness in your heart
Thank you for a great encouraging word today 💕
