Emotional Decisions

“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22

As women, every time we make an emotional decision, it will cost us something. I have made many emotional decisions in my life and have regretted them later on. But thank God for His grace and mercy. Even when I’ve rushed ahead of Him and did what I felt was best, God has forgiven me and sometimes provided a way to restore what was lost.

Emotional decisions take away from us, rather than add to us. That is why God wants us to be led by Him, not by our emotions. Anything God wants to bless us with, anything that has our name on it, isn’t going anywhere.

If you’ve made an emotional decision that is causing you and your family strain, don’t beat yourself up about it. Ask God for forgiveness and let His Spirit of Grace turn it around for you. God is still good, my sister, and He is still on the throne. He still loves you and is going to help you learn how to make wise choices.

Here are some things to do next time you feel strongly about a decision you’re planning to make.

1. Sleep on it and see if you still feel the same about the decision the next day.
2. Ask God about it and wait for His peace.
3. Talk to someone before doing anything.

Prayer: Father God, please forgive me for every emotional decision I have made. I receive your forgiveness. Teach me how to wait on your leading and not just do what I feel is best. Help me Lord to grow in this area, and please provide a way to restore all that I lost. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. I recently walked away from two jobs. One that paid very well but due to workplace politics, lies, deception, harrassment and mobbing, it became too toxic to remain in it – remembering that I must guard my heart. The second due to a matter of integrity; that was paying me the bare minimum; one that paid me only enough to return to the very job the next week, and sometimes not having enough to even do that. I had to lie daily to people about products that I knew were substandard but that was the work that was given to me to do. Although I scored well in the quality of my calls (highest scoring) and although I made a little sale at a time, I refused to dishonour the word of God and lie to others to profit from that lie, it was just wrong. You see, sometimes we see decisions as emotional ones because we really want to escape the onslaught of the world’s expectations of us, but I serve a God who will supply my needs and if I support what is wrong because I want a paycheck I will be no better than the publicans. So I moved out of it, and will now allow God to place me where he thinks it is best, I cannot beat myself up for those who are dishonest, the world’s wealth is created from lies, deception and unjust scales. I would prefer to live a life of honour and have a moment of discomfort than to have to stand before my Judge and tell him why I trusted man’s systems over Him.

  2. Whew this is definitely a timely message as I am in this place currently. This word is confirmation to what The Spirit had already spoken to me. Thank you Father God for your grace to get through this difficult time, for restoring what is being lost, and for wisdom moving forth, in Jesus’ name. Amen

  3. Right now I’m going through some pain. I been with this man for 12 years and I told him I’m tired of waiting on him to propose. I believe he has cheated on me but he denies it he saids I’m crazy. But I can’t shake off the feeling. I want him to leave but he is trying to get things right. I’m over it but he doesn’t get it. I have been walking around bitter and I that’s one thing I do not want to do. Im very hurt I love him but I love myself more. I just don’t understand why he just won’t leave. Please pray for me I really need prayer. Thank you so much for daughters of king ever time I read it something touches me. So thank you and I pray you enjoy your time with your family. May God bless you all

    1. If you are the owner of the residence the two of you reside at then you already have your answer. He is very comfortable with you allowing him to stay there and he is being allowed control of the situation. When you are serious about not wanting him there anymore you will take the necessary steps to get him out. Fact is you cannot start a new life until you have gotten rid of the situation you are allowing yourself to be in right now. Let go and let God. Those words means many things. Decide what it means right now for you. God bless you. May you make the decision to really love yourself first and gain the respect you so deserve. 🙏🙏🙏

  4. This is me a lot of the times. I go based upon my emotional state and act instead of waiting on God. I have made mistakes, but God is so merciful to help me in the mess I got myself into. It is so amazing that He loves us unconditionally.

  5. This is definitely an on time word. I must stop making emotional decisions, and start consulting God first.
    Peace and blessings to all.

  7. Amen, Amen, and Amen!!! I have made emotional decisions before and had to ask God for forgiveness because I moved before He told me to move. I do need to grow in this area as well. The 1,2, &3 things before making a decision are wise counsel with wisdom and encouragement. After I have asked God about something I had got emotional about, then I slept on it and asked another believer that could have an answer that didn’t have any investment of gain or lose in that decision. Still waiting on God to answer and bring peace. He brought peace and understanding to the situation. Peace is the key. 🗝️Because once I released myself of the duties, others started to pitch in. That’s such a wonderful thing to know that what was done isn’t making individuals stumble anymore, but is more willing to help. It’s a great to know when to move, being lead by His Spirit making you the daughter of the Most High. It’s The Lord who will cause me to inherit substance, and fill my treasures. ❤️❤️❤️

DOTK Family, gives wise counsel that is sober💕💐💜💕💐💜

  8. Amen. I have to rely on God for any decisions going forward. My dear husband went to be with Jesus 2 weeks ago and I am being pressured and bullied by his sin to sell my home and give the money to him.
I know God is still in control so I place my faith and my trust in him to guide me through these rough waters and under his wings I will hide.
Thank you Lord for being my strength.
