Evaluate the hurt with God’s Word.

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, NLT.

Whenever you are trying to pinpoint why you feel hurt or why you are seeking forgiveness, use 1 Corinthians 13 as a guide to evaluate the hurt. Ask yourself, do I feel like they were impatient? Do I feel like they were rude? Do I feel like they were only thinking of themselves? Once you pinpoint it, then you can go to the person to express, “I feel like you were impatient with me.” Or “I feel like you didn’t consider me, but were only thinking about yourself, and that hurt.” Now, the two of you have something to work with.

It is the same when seeking forgiveness for something wrong you’ve done. Go down the list in 1 Corinthians 13, and ask yourself, was I unkind? Was I overly sensitive and easily angered? Did I believe the best of that person? Once you locate the problem, now you can go to the person and say, “I apologize for being unkind toward you. You don’t deserve that.” Or “I apologize for not believing the best of you.” This way, when it comes time to communicate, you can express yourself accurately and receive the healing you need, and God is glorified.

Every offense is an offense against love. Evaluate the hurt according to God’s Word. Evaluate why you feel you need to apologize. Once you have located it, now you can communicate it effectively.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. Your word is a lamp to my feet. Help me to use it to guide me in every situation I face. Heal my heart, Lord, and keep it free of all offense. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Psalm 119:105)

  4. Thank YOU Heavenly Father for just being who you are, and that is God. I thank You for what YOU have done for me and my family, for what YOU are doing for me and my family, and thanking YOU in advance for what you going to do.🙌🏽 This afternoon Father God my heart is heavy, it feels like I have very heavy weighs on my back, and the burdens are weighing me down. When I read this message, it hit home. I am a very forgiving person, I even apologizes to people that wronged me, and never ever once got a apology, are even a simple I am sorry. But, because of the God in me, I did what I felt was right and Godly like. I have to be REAL, it truly hurt when you have not done anything to a person are people and they treat you like you have. There are people in the world that don’t know you, but don’t like you because of how you look, what you have, because of how someone else feel about you. And I still find it in my heart to smile and continue to LOVE them. I may not like their ways, but I have to LOVE them. I pray to God everyday, asking for forgiveness, if I have hurt anyone feeling, said something I didn’t know offended them, I would hope they can see the Love and feel it. It’s truly not about me are the person, it’s all about GOD. WHAT WOULD GOD DO, WHAT WOULD GOD SAY, AND ASK GOD, HE WILL DIRECT YOU IN THE WAY YOU SHOULD HANDLE THINGS, EVERYBODY DON’T WANT TO FORGIVE. BUT WHEN YOU DON’T FORGIVE, IT HOLD YOU HOSTAGE, YOU ARE NOT FREE, YOU ARE NOT AT PEACE WITH YOURSELF. SO, GOD I AM ASKING YOU TO DELIVER ME, FROM ME. MAKE ME BETTER THAN THE DAY BEFORE, AND FORGIVE ME OF MY SHORT COMING , AND I FORGIVE ANY AND EVERYONE THAT DID ME WRONG AND HAVING ASK FOR THEIR FORGIVENESS, I AM FREEING MYSELF FROM HURT, PAIN, STRESS, ANXIETY, FEAR, AND UNFORGIVENESS. TODAY IS THE DAY I BREAK THE CHAIN. I AM FREE IN JESUS NAME AMEN AND AMEN 🙌🏽❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️ HALLELUJAH 🙌🏽 PRAISE GOD
