Focus on Home

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you” Deuteronomy 31:6, Berean Study Bible.

While sitting in the airport heading home from a trip to minister to women in Kentucky, I sat waiting to board the airplane. It then dawned on me that I was sitting alone. Months ago, I had told God that I felt like the scene in movies when you have someone waiting and waiting for their loved one to show up, but they never do, so the person has to board alone. There were some people I wished could come with me where I’m going, but they didn’t want to go. For whatever reason, they wanted to stay where they were. God knows I don’t like being alone, but what brings me comfort is focusing on where I’m going. As I sat in the airport, joy and peace filled my heart as I remembered I was headed home where my family was waiting for me.

Maybe you’re having to go alone, walk alone, fly alone, and you’re waiting to see if your buddy you’ve known for years is going fly higher with you, but she’s not showing up. Maybe they do not want to go with you anywhere, and you have to board alone. I encourage you to focus on where you’re headed. You’re going home, my sister. Heaven is our destination. Be strong and courageous. God will never leave you comfortless and without support. He will never leave you or forsake you. He is with you and He will always provide you with everything you need for your journey. If you would only board the plane and choose to go higher in Him, not caring who is with you or who’s not, you’ll see what great things, what great friends and family, what great blessings He has waiting for you!

Prayer: Thank you, Father, that no matter where I am and no matter how I feel, you are with me, and you provide everything I need. Even when I feel alone, you know how I feel, and you provide for me. Help me focus on where I’m headed, not where I am right now. Help me keep my mind stayed on you, and thank you I will be kept in perfect peace like your word says. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. I heard it said that when one door closes another opens and, in order to make space for new thing, an old thing goes. So sometimes being alone might be temporary for when God wants to bring loving ppl into ur life, especially if previous ppl u been around ain’t His plan. For example when alcoholics get sober they naturally lose friends cuz previously they were hanging with alcoholics but now they don’t have anything in common with them. And they usually not ready to quit even if u try to help or feel frustrated seeing them wasting their lives. Sorry for ling comment.

  2. Its through spending time alone one on one with the Lord that we get to know Him personally and intimately.

  3. I thank God for this word today, I’m a single parent with no family support. I do everything alone and it hurts a lot, I fight all my battles alone (Holy Ghost) help of course. I just want someone to love me and my kids so we don’t have to be alone.

    1. Raising kids on your own can be lonely (I raised 4 by myself). Know that you are never alone. Your loving Father walks by your side and constantly has your back.. Take this time to teach your children how much God loves them and wants a relationship with them, so that when they are older they might be content being alone with Him too..

  4. God bless u for this inspiring message.
It has made me wake up.It has boost my faith in the Lord.
