What things do you enjoy doing? What do you love being surrounded with? Refresh your soul by doing things you love. Too often we become our role of wife, mother, active church member, community leader, business owner, etc. and we lose ourselves. Because we become so focused on the demands that are placed upon us we can easily forget the things we enjoy doing.
Whether its bike riding, rock climbing, running, painting, or knitting, get back to doing things you enjoy. Always remember that you are more than a wife and more than a mother. Although these are important, there is far more to you than these. Take the necessary time to refresh yourself or you will lose yourself. Make you a priority and remember that it is God’s will that you have life and have it more abundantly (see John 10:10b).
There’s no need to feel guilty for doing something you enjoy. It doesn’t make you a bad mother or wife. You taking care of yourself and getting your enjoyment for life back will tremendously help you in your other roles. It will help you be a better wife, a better mother, a better servant and a better friend. My sister, get back to enjoying your life!

Prayer: Father God, I feel like I’ve lost myself in my different roles and have forgotten who I am and the things I love about life. It’s Your desire that I enjoy this life You have given me. I’m still a woman and I need continual refreshing. Refresh my soul, Lord. Show me the things I forgot I even enjoyed. Give me a new zeal for life and help me to live to the fullest! In Jesus Name, Amen.

This brought tears to my eyes. I don’t know what I enjoy anymore. I don’t know what brings joy to my soul. I have lived in tension for so long, being so careful of those around me, I don’t know how else to live. The only thing I do know and that has kept me alive is being in His presence. Jesus, teach me and show me how to live abundantly.
