Give yourself permission to shine for God’s glory.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

My sister, maybe you hate the spotlight. Maybe you turn down promotions because you are afraid of everyone looking to you as a leader. Maybe you have dealt with fear of walking in your purpose because it requires you to speak up and stand out. I’m here to tell you, the same Holy Spirit that empowers me daily and gives me courage and confidence when I feel afraid, is the same Holy Spirit who will empower you at every turn. People will see God’s Spirit at work in you and will be amazed by His light. Speak to the little girl within you. Give her permission to shine for God’s glory. Give her permission to walk in the plan and purpose the Lord has assigned for her life! He has been with her since she took her first breath, and the Lord is with you now helping you to shine for Him!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for loving me with a perfect love that drives out all fear. You did not give me a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love and a sound mind. Help me to walk courageously and confidently in your plan and purpose. Help me stay reminded that no matter how afraid I feel, those are only feelings. It’s not who I am. I am your daughter and you’ve got my back. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Isaiah 60:1-3)

  1. This devotional is confirmation. I have been praying Matthew 5:15-16 for the last two days. I also am battling insecurities about speaking and doing what the Lord has called, the very desires in which He has put on my heart. I will not fear. I thank the Lord for this Ministry. Blessings, Shalom and Agape.🙏🏽❤🙏🏽❤🙏🏽

  2. THANK YOU JESUS, I Am having trouble in this area, May You remove ALL FEAR and give me the Strength to push forward to do what I am called to do so much so that when men see me, they will say …. SURELY SHE BELONGS TO GOD❣️

  3. My God,
As I began to read tears started to fill my eyes. The spotlight was not for me however knowing who’s I am
moreover the gifts God gave me is not to be kept but share on a plate form which is out of my comfort zone. Mornings during prayers I would say “God use me” Lord knows I had no idea it would be on such a grand scale. Thank you for being obedient in all you do as your purpose is attached to ours. May God continue to grace you with His everlasting joy may your cup overflow like the Nile river

  4. Thank You God for this message. This is the Lord confirmation for me. Its exactly what I am struggling on how to deal the spotlight because God is using my trials to share the gospel to people ans to share the goodness of God to my churchmates. I am struggling because I don’t want to be in the spotlight or in the center of attenttion. I am afraid that people in my church will judge me to be boastful/prideful or over reacting in my situation. Also I needed to speak and this is soo out of my comfort zone I am fearful to be in the spotlight because I don’t want to take any credit of what God is doing in my life. Fear of judgment, and fear to speak up, fear to be in the spotlight. This is what i need thank You God for showing me this and thank you whoever wrote this. God is good and always there to show his presence in every situations. Praise God. 🙏❤☝️🤗

    1. I can relate to all of this. No matter what, I just want all to be for God’s glory and for me to stay humble. I always want to be decreasing that God will always be increasing in me. That is my prayer and desire to always decrease so that He increase in me.

  5. Amen Thank you Father God 🙌🏾 Praise God yes Lord continue to so me your will in the name of Jesus Amen 🙏🏾 🙌🏾 ❤

    1. Powerful confirmation, yet again!!! God has been giving me lots of mind blowing confirmations lately from various sources. I just went to a conference called Arise and Shine. I read your devotional about rich in experiences. Right after, I listened to a message, that was in direct alignment to your devotional. I have ran from the call for years. Now, I am ready to answer. I am in my season of pruning, refinement and consecration. There are many trails but I am not feeling them. I have so much joy, peace and calm.

  6. I feel that if I don’t answer now, God may not give me the chance again. It is a privilege to be called and chosen. I don’t want to have regrets later, thinking what could have been if I had answered. I also don’t want to stand before God one day and have to give an account about why I did not answer the call. I am facing a multitude of challenges, but God says give Him what I got in the midst of them and He will multiply it and use it for His glory and purpose. Challenges can be used to propel us into our calling or stop us from pursuing it. The God of the impossible is able to help us overcome the impossible and do the impossible. You need money, destiny helpers, resources, time, creativity, etc to fulfill your purpose? God’s got it. All He needs is your YES. And remember it is for His glory, to build and edify the Body of Christ and bring souls to Him. Be it a business, non-profit organization, whatever…let it be a ministry for the Lord. When people walk into your business for a product or service, may they encounter Christ. When people hear you speak, may they hear God Himself speaking through you. May the power of His Words, heal, save, transform, deliver, enlightenment, give wisdom…

  7. I needed this. I tend to hide my light under a basket. I struggle with promoting myself and my talents then wonder why I am not used. Many times I have been turned away as not needed after volunteering only to learn someone else was wanted snd thst person refused so position went unfilled. That hurts! And makes me not want to even offer or volunteer later.
