God Hears Your Cry

“The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right; his ears are open to their cries for help.” Psalms 34:15

One evening, I arrived home and didn’t have the key to the door. Needless to say, my husband whom I love, was inside sleeping like a rock. He didn’t hear me knocking on the door like the police. He didn’t hear me ringing the doorbell repeatedly. He didn’t hear me throw a bucket next to the window. That man was completely knocked out. So, I yelled next to the bedroom window, “Baby, open the door!” Seconds later, there he was standing at the front door. I asked him, “You didn’t hear all of the noise I was making?” He said, “No!” “So, what woke you up?” I asked. He said, “I heard your voice.”

It is not our emotional fits, demands, tantrums, and pouting that gets God’s attention. His ears are attentive to our voice. His ears are attentive to our prayers and when we draw near to Him, He draws near to us. Let God hear the cry of your heart, let God hear your voice.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for watching over me and being so attentive to my prayers. You hear my voice and you draw close to me when I draw close to you. When I face difficult situations in my life, help me to always stay reminded that you do hear me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
