God shows up in the fire.

The fire may be strong right now but it proves we have something far more precious than gold. Without the hot test, how would we ever know the quality of our faith. Go through it, and see, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christโ€ (see 1 Peter 1:7).

When it feels like we are not going to make it, our faith will. Our faith will see us through every trial. It is indeed more precious than gold. Just when we think we canโ€™t take anymore, God shows up in the fire. You would think He would swoop in to remove us from the heat of circumstance, but sometimes, not so. Sometimes, He comes in to powerfully comfort us while we’re in it, touching our heart and mind. The Lord covers us, shields us, protecting us from the effects of the fire, making sure our hair doesn’t burn, and our clothes continues to smell the same as before. He is our comforter. He is our very present help in trouble. He has not abandoned His daughters and He will never leave our side. The Spirit of the Lord is right here making sure our faith remains.

Prayer: Father God, I cry out to you. You are my God and there is none else. Thank you for being my impenetrable Shield. You are with me to help me come through trials without losing my hope and confidence in you. Thank you that your word fights for me. I hide it in my heart and declare it from my mouth. Whether you pull me up out of this or not, I trust you will be with me every second. In Jesus name, Amen.
