He Will Help You Forgive and Live

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins” Matthew 6:14-15, NKJV.

Take a moment to observe the picture of the flower below. Does it look alive and vibrant? Not at all. It looks like all of the life has been drained from it. This is what unforgiveness does to us. It is a sin that separates us from the Source of life, which is God. It puts a complete halt on everything, because until we can forgive them, He can’t forgive us.

Many of us know this, yet we hold on to unforgiveness anyway, knowing the spiritual, physical and emotional damage it causes us. We say, “What they did to me was far worse than anything I’ve ever done to anyone!” We say in anger, “It’s easy for you to say forgive them, but you don’t know what they did!” Or we say, “I could never forgive them. I’ll take it to my grave.” Jesus’ response to our reasoning is, “But what did I forgive you of? Haven’t I shown you mercy and love when you don’t deserve it.”

Our righteousness is as filthy rags to Him. None of us deserved His love and mercy. Yet He poured it out on us so freely and forgave us of all our sin–past, present, and future. We were made clean with the blood of Jesus and made holy before Him. Now, He says, forgive them as I have forgiven you. Show them the same mercy that I’ve shown you.

We may have a choice to be unforgiving, but we don’t have a right, especially when God has forgiven us of so much. We may not have done what they’ve done, but to God, sin is sin.

Choose to forgive and live.

Prayer: Father God, I’m sorry for being unforgiving. I’m so sorry for not showing others the same mercy and love you’ve shown me. I humble myself right now under your mighty hand and I ask you to help me do what your Word is requiring of me to do. I may have a choice to hold on to my anger and unforgiveness, but Lord I don’t have a right when you’ve forgiven me and showed me so much mercy over the course of my life. Thank you for your mercy towards me. Help me to give your mercy away freely, without apologies being needed or even their remorse. Help me Lord to forgive and live. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    1. If we do forgive are we required by God to maintain any kind of relationship with them …I do not wish too be around this person.

  4. Thank YOU my LORD FATHER GOD,” for YOUR Powerful word indeed you know I needed this yes I truly want to forgive. Wow look what I just received as i began to continue to text my message i asked GOD what do YOU want me to share? My attention was drawn to my book ( Beauty for Ashes Authored by Pastor Joyce Meyer) in front of me Here’s what I got pg.142 and 143. As Joyce Meyers says. I went to GOD in prayers seeking answers for them, and HE gave me this message: ” My people we t to forgive, but they are not obeying the scriptures concerning forgiveness. ” The LORD led me to several passages about praying for and blessing our enemies. Many people claim to forgive bit don’t pray for those who hurt them. Praying for those who have wronged us can bring them to a place of repentance and true realization of the harm they are causing to others. Without prayers, they may remain in deveption. Pray for GOD to bless your enemies, those who abuse and redicule and misuse you. Im going to skip alittle. It is impossible for anyone to be truly blessed eithout knowing JESUS, If you are willing to pray for your abusers, you will activate Romans 12:21: “Do not let yourself be overcome by evil, but be overcome by evil, (master) evil with good Whooooo Glory Hallelujah. Ask GOD to show mercy, not judgement, to your abusers. Remember you sow mercy you will reap mercy. ( Galations 6:7). Blessings and not cursing your enemy is a very important part of the process of forgiveness. One definition of the word BLESS is to speak well of,” and to curse of is to speak evil of. Whoops conviction setting in forgive me my LORD JESUS. Let me finnish with this, The Bible teaches us not to gossip, slander, or carry tales. The writer of Proverbs 17:9 says, “He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats ir haros on a matter seperates even close friends.” Quite often we exercise faith to receive healing from our hurts and at the same time, we fail to obey the royal law of LOVE. In Galations 5:6 the apostle Paul tells us that faith works and is energized by LOVE: “for LOVE covers a multitudes of sins: ( 1 Peters 4:8). Bible warns us about vain (useless) conversation ( Matthew 12:36) Unless revealing our problem has some godly purpose, we must disciplined ourselves to bear it silently. trusting that GOD Will reward us openly for honoring HIS Word. GLORY GLORY GLORY GLORY Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah. In the beginning of my message i was complaining sharing my abuse specifically name details which occurred just before I got in my devotion LORD stopped me and boom HE STARTED TO MOVE me Yes total conviction. I started to delete and repented with my whole heart. 6. When Sin Weigh
    Heavy upon us,go to God,
    Open ourself to God’s
Loving Presence,so that God may fill us with His fullness.Confess our
wrongdoing, which God know all about before we say a word. Stay in the Light of God’s Presence, receiving forgiveness, cleansing, and healing. Remember that God have us when we stumble or fall ,God is there
to Help us up. We have the
tendency to hide from our sin, seeking refuge in the darkness. There we indulges in self-pity,denial,
    Self-righteousness,blaming
    ,and hatred. But God the
    Light Of The World,And
    illumination decimates the
    darkness. Come close to
    God and let God’s Light
    Envelope us,driving out
    darkness and permeating
    Us with Peace.

    Be Our Stumbling Block!!!

  9. AWESOME WORD!!!! Forgiveness is critical in our walk with God!!! When someone does me wrong I ask God to deal with me FIRST. Because the longer we wait for healing that very pain can be taking root which will bear other evil fruits i.e. hatered. There is a book called “Purpose in Pain.” It is an awesome book that speaks on a little girl (she is grown now) who was sexually abused by a family friend from the age of 9 until she was 12. In that book she also tells how God taught her how to forgive the guy that sexually abused her. Because her forgiving him is critical. You can order the book from Amazon.
