Holy Spirit is training us in matters of the Spirit.

“For though we walk in the flesh [as mortal men], we are not carrying on our [spiritual] warfare according to the flesh and using the weapons of man. The weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood]. Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Amplified.

We are in a spiritual battle, and the only way we can win is in the Spirit. Try to come against the enemy in the flesh, and you will lose every single time. You have to pray in the Spirit, walk in the Spirit, fight in the Spirit. Your enemy is not what you see in front of you. Your true enemy is a master of disguise, and he is hoping you fight with people instead of him. He is dreading the day you are no longer ignorant of his devices and strategies (see 2 Corinthians 2:11). He doesn’t want you to put on every piece of your spiritual armor (see Ephesians 6:13-18). But you will. The Spirit of God is training you in matters of the Spirit. The devil is putting up a fight, but you are learning how to walk in the victory Jesus purchased with His blood. Nothing is going to stop you from receiving and enjoying all of God’s precious promises. It’s going to be a messy fight, but through Jesus, you win. You won’t give up. You won’t lose heart. You are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who loves you (see Romans 8:37). You will pick up your spiritual weapons, you will lift up your head, and you will declare these words by faith:

“I submit to God, and I resist the devil, and he flees from me now! I take authority over every principality and power of darkness. I put on the full armor of Christ, and I take my place in Him. I cast down every imagination that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of God, and I bring into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ. I am victorious through Jesus, and I maintain that victory. Everything in my life lines up with God’s word in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah. Amen.”

(Read James 4:7)
