I know it’s rough.

“To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” Isaiah 61:3, NKJV.

I know it’s rough, especially when everyone wants you to show great faith and trust in God, but you are still shook from what’s happening around you and in the world. You want to scream but everyone wants you to praise your way through it. You want to cry but people want you to laugh.

My sister, God is the only one who can turn our sorrow into joy, and until He does, cry and release those tears. Let your soul be cleansed and healed. Go in your car and scream at the top of your lungs. Write it all down, or talk it out with a friend. Then when you’ve released the right way, go and feel the warmth of the sun on your face. Open your mouth and speak the truth of His word. Listen to the song that blesses you most as God reminds you that He is still on the throne and everything is in His control.

Then watch how He anoints your head with the oil of joy. Your loving Father is determined for your smile to be real. His Holy Spirit will do what He came to do, which is comfort and help you.
Prayer: Thank you, Father, you sure know how to meet us where we are. Minister to your daughters deepest need. Comfort us, Lord. Only you can turn sorrow into joy. Help us trust you through it all. Help us handle emotions the right way. We love you and we know you are good. We know you love us and you are in control. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Thank you for this timely reminder that even though we walk through the shadows of death we shall fear no evil, the Lord’s rod and staff will comfort us in these dark daunting times. Some trust in horses and chariots but I will trust in the Lord. God’s Glory will be revealed. Blessings, Shalom and Agape πŸ‘€πŸ™πŸ½β™₯οΈπŸ“–πŸ™ŒπŸ½
