Identify Yourself with God’s Grace

“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

In life, there are some people that won’t let you forget who you used to be and how you used to live. Paul had the same problem. He once persecuted the church and imprisoned many believers. He was a bad man, but God changed his life around. However, people around him weren’t so easily convinced of the change that had taken place within him. Sometimes all people can see is your mistakes.

My sister, the only thing that can overcome the pain of people’s judgement is you learning to do the same thing Paul did. He learned to identify himself with the grace of God. He said, “By the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” When Paul looked in the mirror, he didn’t see his past, he saw God’s grace. That’s what we must do as believers who have been saved and delivered.

You are not your past. You are not your failures. You are a walking and breathing testimony of God’s divine grace! God will fight for you. The Lord will show Himself strong in you. He will remove all fear. He will give you a word of reconciliation that will be specially tailored to reach those who are going through the same thing God delivered you from. So, you stay encouraged and keep your head up! You are a beautifully graced woman of God!

Challenge: Look in the mirror and say, “Goodbye old me. Goodbye to all fear. I identify myself with the grace of God. It is in full operation in my life. I am a daughter of the King. I am a new creature in Christ and I act like it. I walk like it. I talk like it. I live in God’s grace, His undeserved favor. The Lord has divine influence upon my heart and it is reflected in my life!

  1. Amen. This devotion goes in hand with another devotion I always read. I’m thankful the body of Christ is on one accord, most of all the word seeing ourselves with grace, at least for me I believe. I receive it by faith. I’ve speaking this all last week “I am who God says I Am, I can do what he says I can, I can have what he says is mines”. Thank you DOTK Family.

April 12, 2021: In a vision I was looking at myself in a large mirror and it suddenly began to shatter and fall in pieces to the ground. Behind the shattered mirror was a path leading to a bridge that spanned a river and revealed the beginning of the road beyond. I believe this vision has to do with getting past self examination and scrutiny to achieve breakthrough. I also heard in my spirit the lyrics of a song by Simon and Garfunkel: “Like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down.” Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.

  2. Oh how I needed to hear this post. Thank the Lord for His grace. For I know that the Lord’s grace is sufficient in my life. He has forgiven me; therefore, I take my eyes and shield my thoughts from people and look up to the Lord, in which my help comes from, my help comes from the Lord. For His Glory. Through Jesus’ name, Amen.
