It’s All About Love

“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing” 1 Corinthians 13:2, KJV.

When my husband and I were married, I thought I came to the marriage a spiritual giant that could teach him so much about the LORD. Since I had been saved longer than him, I was planning to teach him how to win spiritual battles in prayer, how to prophesy, how to quote scriptures and how to storm the gates of heaven and get God to move. I was so impressed with myself and my “spiritual growth”.

…until

I kept coming across situations where I had to love people. I kept facing situations where I needed to be patient…kind…believe the best…and forgive. All of my faith and all of the Bible knowledge I had didn’t mean anything because I didn’t know how to love the way God had instructed me to. He helped me to locate where I really was spiritually, and little by little and day by day, the Lord began to show me through His Word and through my husband’s example, how to love myself and others the way He loves. He’s still showing me.

My sister, it doesn’t matter how much you can pray if you don’t know how to love people in a way that pleases God. It doesn’t matter how many Bible verses you can quote verbatim if you don’t know how to treat people right. A sign of true spiritual maturity is in your ability to love like Jesus.

Challenge: Take a closer look at 1 Corinthians 13 and see how well you measure up to God’s standard of love.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. I need you to teach me how to love. I haven’t been doing a good job at it. Plant your seed of love in my heart and cause it to grow and produce visible results in my life. I want to grow spiritually. I desperately want to learn your ways of doing things. Help me to be more like you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. 🥀 Thank you Heavenly Father for showing me 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 about how to Love ❤️ like you and to other’s and myself, because Love Is Indispensable. And yet He 😊 will show you the most excellent way. 🥀

  2. WOW (Word of Wisdom). This is for me! I receive this word! I humble myself before GOD, who is love, full of grace and merciful. I ask GOD to search my heart and if there be anything that is hindering my spiritual growth, I pray that you FATHER shine your light on it, so that as I meditate of your Word and pray in faith that those things, which are not of you can be eradicated from my life. I want to love like Jesus, unconditional. I want to extend grace like JESUS do. I want others to see CHRIST in me. I surrender all to you LORD, and declare “HAVE YOUR WAY”. In Jesus mighty name ! Aaaaamen 🙏✝🔥💯

  3. Thank you father God for showing me what real love looks like ! I know the scriptures well and my heart is filled with love but often times I have not used my love in a spiritual manner like Jesus would . I want to have agape love not being selfish st all but to give my love through any situation that may arise !!! I have lots of love but have been selfish at times. Forgive me father in heaven if I did not use my love to keep a footstep from going astray or caused a tear drop to fall one day when my love would have made a smile or a journey the right way

  4. Verna posted today that she have love but maybe have not used it often times in the right way ,maybe caused a tear yo fall or someone to go astray ,my post cane under anonymous sorry

  5. Yes, thank you for this devotional. Just because I think I am loving doesn’t infact mean that I am. I have never experienced unconditional love; therefore, I know that it is hard for me to love correctly. I am going to put this before the Lord. I need to be taught how to love myself so that I may truly love others.

Thanks Sis. Kesha. Hard word but needed. Blessings, Shalom and Agape. 🙏❤🙏❤

  6. Wow! What a timely word! This was my heart’s prayer even as I was in prayer early this morning. Help me to love like you, Jesus. Amen

  7. 1 Corinthians 13 is one of my favorite Bible verses but I’ve not read it in awhile. Thank you Sister Kesha for reminding me that I need to get back on track with the Lord & this verse is a good place to start. God bless you & keep you ❤🙏🕊✝️
