Jesus has removed our shame.

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” Hebrews 12:2, NKJV.

When something is despised, it no longer has a voice. It’s put down, frowned upon, and insulted. Scorned. When Jesus went to the cross, taking upon Himself our sins, scripture tells us, He despised the shame. He chose to not give it a voice. He looked down on it and left it scorned forever. He did this so that the shame that comes with sin can no longer have any power over us.

My sister, Jesus has removed our shame and we are free to share how the Lord saved and delivered us. We are free to share what He brought us through and how He’s getting us through things we’re still dealing with. Our identity is in Christ alone, and we are God’s daughters. We are not the illness, we are not the mistake, we are not the sin, the breakdown, or the loss. We are blessed daughters of God now and forever, and we can rejoice in the land of the living, which is where we are even on a bad day. We are in Christ, and He is in us, and there is no shame whatsoever.

Prayer: Hallelujah, thank you, Lord, for saving us, forgiving us, and removing all shame from our lives. Thank you our sins were dealt with on the cross, once and for all, and we don’t have to listen to shame anymore. You’ve despised it, scorned it, stripped it of power, and silenced it. Help us imitate you and despise shame, scorn it, and look down upon it. We are free to serve you without fear all our days. Help us enjoy this new place you’ve placed us in without shame, full of joy and gratitude. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
