Let Peace Rule

“And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].” Colossians 3:15 (AMP)

The peace of God is the umpire of our hearts. He calls every thought, idea or pending decision safe or unsafe. He gives red lights that provide us with caution and green lights that let us know that it is ok to proceed. Often in our lives, we tend to override God’s peace, and we later find ourselves saying, “Something told me not to do that”. Well, that wasn’t something. That was Someone. The peace of God is your safe guide and He will never lead you to do something that goes against God’s word.

Just as you would get to know a new friend, become better acquainted with peace. Let it call every thought, idea, or pending decision safe or unsafe. Invite the peace of God into your moment by moment life, and let it rule as umpire of your heart.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for being the umpire of my heart. I pray your peace reigns and rules in my life. Even in the midst of chaos, flood me with your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. God is so timely. This is exactly what I needed this morning. Thank You Lord for your peace that surpasses all understanding. You are our Peace.

  2. I need peace. I need peace in what the Lord has told me, what to let go and what He saying and told me I need to do. I need strength to focus on peace and rest in it.

This is confirmation. I should not do anything that will take away the peace that the Lord has given me, no matter what. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Thank you Sis. Kesha so much for this devotional. Much appreciated. Blessings, Shalom and Agape. 🙏❤🙏❤🙏

  3. Thank you so much for this. It is timely for what I’ve recently been dealing with as I’ve had to make the harsh decision to separate myself from toxic people who I thought had my back. It has been said that toxic people are like a cancer in our lives, who viciously eat away at us… and like cancer, we don’t get to pick or choose the areas of our lives that receive or do not damage. It just eats until we find out it’s there by the level of pain we may be feeling or the damage we notice. Nevertheless, I had to do it in order for God’s peace to reign in my life and for my soul to receive restoration. This devotion was everything.., confirmation that I’m on the right track. I’m in God’s recovery room.

  4. Amen Father God I need your peace daily and my life and Jesus name again Amen 🙏🏽

    1. Amen!! I believe this word, I receive this word and I shall act on this word (BRA). Thank you Holy Spirit for your constant nudges that show me the safe and unsafe decisions before they are acted upon. I don’t know where I would be without GOD’s mercy and guidance. Strengthen me that I may always be alert to hear your still voice in Jesus’ name! Shalom 🙏🙌💪👏

  7. Do you mean a form of intuition? I rarely feel peace but I have mental disorders. But intuition is sometimes right but impulsivity often occurs before intuition has time to be felt. Emotional reasoning can also be confused for intuition. In short it sounds hard to somehow get this peace you talk of, no offense. And being peaceful only happens wen I’m 1. In a good mood and 2. Someone or something hasn’t triggered my emotion, which then persists few hours. (Borderline personality disorder). Hopefully one day I can get treatment but it’s expensive and I have several priorities and problems, also expensive.

  8. God I thank you for this moment of peace and I ask God to strengthen me as I go through I know it’s going to be ok….
