Lord, help me finish this year strong.

“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts‬ ‭20‬:‭35,‬ ‭NKJV.‬‬

To my sisters who are feeling incredibly lonely, God is going to satisfy your loneliness. He is going to fill that place in your heart in His own special way, and will focus you on being the blessing He made you to be. Because you are His daughter and He cares for you, He’s going to make sure this Christmas is not spent in depression, spent in worry and steeped in cares. It will not be spent feeling angry over who didn’t invite you to dinner, who hasn’t called you or come to visit. No, my sister, God is going to make you too busy to notice or care. You’re going to be a great blessing because that’s who you are!

Here’s a challenge for you to tackle over the the next few weeks!

  • Choose someone to personally give a gift to. It could be handmade or purchased.
  • Call or visit a friend or family member who isn’t married and doesn’t have children.
  • Write down a prayer and give it to someone the Lord leads you to.
  • Find a family in need to do something special for.
  • Volunteer at a nursing home, animal shelter, etc.

Do these as often as needed!

Prayer: Father, I hear you. Thank you for speaking to my heart. I come to you with an empty cup that only you can fill. I pray you fill every place in my heart to the overflow. Help me be the blessing you created me to be. Help me focus more on giving than receiving, Father, and keep me busy shining with your light and sharing your love. Help me finish this year strong. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Love these ideas
My Mom passed in May this year, we were so blessed to have her til she was 90 years old, we lived together and the family always came to our house for Thanksgiving, however, after everyone left I felt very sad and lonely, I believe it was how she felt every time the family left, so instead of sitting and feeling sad and lonely I got up and went to visit a friend, it was the best medicine, so these ideas are great and I will use at least a couple of them.
May God bless all my sisters in Christ who are alone.

  2. Dealing with a chronic illness that has me in pain and severely fatigued 24/7, I’ve made no friends in this town, widowedowed last November. My only living child lives on the next street, hasn’t contacted me since her husband brought me home from the hospital in Oct. Last year, granddaughter and her family stopped by when in town for family gathering (her grandpa had just died), no visit this Thanksgiving.
My deceased grandson’s 16 yr old son does chores (I’m getting a smaller house ready to move to) for me, for $. Yesterday, I learned he has a girlfriend. Until he was able to drive, his mother kept him from me.
    This message spoke to me.
