My Sister, Arise

“And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.” Mark 5:41

Jesus gently spoke to Jairus’ daughter who was dead, “Talitha cumi” which means “Damsel, I say unto you arise.” It was her time to rise, her time to see God’s glory, her time to see morning, and how did God treat this special moment in her life? He treated it ever so gently. He looked at her with those gentle and loving eyes, took her by the hand and spoke.

Today, you may be unresponsive to God, numb to His love, cold and not knowing how to feel anything anymore. You may be dead to life, engulfed in sin, and have experienced the effects of darkness for so long that the morning light of God’s glory shining upon you seem foreign. But it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been unresponsive to Him, how much you’ve sinned, or how low you have allowed yourself to go, God still looks at you with the same gentle and loving eyes as He did with Jairus’ daughter. Jesus’ words reached that young girl and caused her to rise from her death. It wasn’t her faith that did it. How could she have faith? She was dead. Sometimes we expect those who are dead to have faith, when it’s not their faith that heals them. It is someone else’s heartfelt prayers of faith that save the sick, someone else seeking God on your behalf and standing in the gap for you, someone else believing God to work a miracle in your life. Her father believed and he received his daughter back to life.

My sister, you may not have faith right now, and there may not be anyone around you who believe. And that is quite alright because I have faith in the resurrection power of God and I believe that as you are reading this right now, the Spirit of God is ministering life to you right where you sit. Talitha cumi. My sister, I say unto you arise. Arise from obscurity, arise from disease, arise from complacency, arise from that low place. The morning has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!

Prayer: Father, Thank you. Your life giving Spirit has ministered life to me. You have caused me to come alive and I thank and praise you with all of my heart. I see your faithfulness and I see that you are true. I see your gentleness and your love for me. It is my prayer that you shine forever in me and through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. You dropped a lot of knowledge thank you. For example in one church they taught that you need faith to get prayers answered. And lack of faith caused not to be answered. And that you cannot pray for more faith (uckg church is heretical (prosperity theology) and also like a Ponzi scheme, tithes & offerings building new storefront churches to rob more people) they taught only about money and healing and deliverance and taught that God wants every believer to be extremely wealthy (the one percent) but I digress.
My point is thank you so much for the wisdom you tell us. Plus the help it provides
