My sister, God is our refuge.

“The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, My stronghold and my refuge; My Savior, You save me from violence.” 2 Samuel 22:3

In recent days, thunderstorms and even a tornado have swept through southwest Georgia. While comforting my two-year-old daughter, she said Mommy, storm! I said, I know, but you see these walls? The storm can’t get through these walls. She continued to look outside, and the more she looked at the trees and listened to the strong winds, the more afraid she became. Again she cried, Mommy, storm! I said I know, but the storm is out there, and you are in here. As soon as those words left my lips, I heard the voice of Holy Spirit speaking to me. He said, the storms in your life are on the outside of you, but your spirit is safe in Me.

My sister, in life, we all experience financial storms, relational storms, emotional storms, and storms in our physical body, and the more we look at the storm and listen to the strong winds, the more afraid we can become. But God wants us to know, the storms in our life are on the outside of us, but our spirit man is safe in Him. No matter how it looks, He is still good, and He is still in full control! The Lord is our refuge, our strong tower, and we are safe! The more we focus on His truth instead of the storm, we will experience His peace. He is right there, and He will calm you in the midst of your storm.

Prayer: I praise you, Lord because I am safe in you! I praise you because you are my rock, my refuge, and my hiding place. No matter what is going on outside of me, there’s a place within me that the storm can’t reach. Thank you for the peace your truth brings to me, Father. I will trust you as we ride out the storms of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. The past few weeks have been very exacting on me. My faith, my thought life, my mental strength and emotional strength have been tried. I have given up more than I could utter. But anytime I open up your devotion the Holy Spirit ministers directly to my situation. And when I mean directly..I mean he touches on exactly what am going through likenit looks like. This is the confirmation to me that indeed God is in our community( that is the daughters of the king)…and on a personal level I confirm and affirm that he sees me, hears me, leads me and delivers me! Halleluyah. In the face of unbelief and doubt and fear I will intentionally sing halleluyah to my king. They overcame by the blood of the lamp and their testimony..This is my testimony. God has brought me to a glorious end. I choose not to look at the storm. As real as it looks. I choose to run to my Lord and my stronghold. God bless you sister for allowing God to use you to touch lives all over the world. I love you dearly.
