You ran well, my sister. Who hindered you?

“You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?” Galatians 5:7, NKJV

We all can think of someone in our lives or someone in history who started out well but did not finish what they set out to do. We all can think of someone who we so desperately wanted to succeed, but they couldn’t leave that guy alone, that group of friends alone, or that habit alone. My sister, who and what is it that is hindering you from being all that God created you to be and accomplishing the work He has given you to do? Is there anything people will look at 50 years from now and say to themselves if only she could have left that person, that thing, or that habit alone?

I’ve determined to let God help me locate my greatest hindrances and distractions. I’ve determined that no one is going to say, if only she could have left that thing alone, left that group of friends alone, or left that habit alone, she could have accomplished so much more. I’ve determined to put my everything into the fulfillment of my purpose. God sent me to encourage you to do the same. My sister, look closely at your life. What do you see? Look at your life and ask the Lord who and what are your greatest hindrances. Then ask for His wisdom as you deal with those specific areas of your life.

You ran well, my sister. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking directly to my heart. I pray that you will open my eyes to see my greatest hindrances and distractions. I want to fulfill your purpose for my life, but I need your help locating the person, the thing, or the habit that has hindered me. Father, help me be completely honest with you and with myself. Lord, give me strength, courage and wisdom as I deal with these areas of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Hebrews 12:1)

  1. My God this was a needed read and an eye opening devotional. I have been allowing myself to be hindered in the area of my eating habits and it’s something that God has been dealing with me about for a while but today I say no more delaying and I ask that y’all pray for me and stand in agreement with me as I make some serious changes. I won’t allow anything or anyone to hinder me and keep me from fulfilling my purpose and the plans that God has for me. I thank you Lord for this word and I ask that you reveal to me any other areas and people in my life that are hindrances to my purpose and to your plans for my life in Jesus name, Amen πŸ’™

  10. This is a powerful post, food for thought. I say my past, loe self esteem, fear and unbelief. I need a change of mind and to see my worth. I need to really believe there is something good ahead, not to just be a reader of the word but a true believer that the Lord God Almighty is no respector of person. I believe for everyone else but not me. Honest, truth.

Thank you Sis. Kesha. I will continue to do self evaluation to pluck things up at it root.

    Blessings, Shalom and Agape.
