My sister, you don’t have to try so hard.

“The blessing of the LORD enriches, and He adds no sorrow to it” Proverbs 10:22, Berean Study Bible.

Through the years, I’ve always tried very hard to make others happy, feeling a need to please, and never wanting to disappoint those I love. They were grateful, but I was exhausted.

God helped me understand when He divinely places someone in my life, I don’t have to try so hard. If I never called to pray with them, they would still love me. If I never invited them over for dinner, they would still love me. If I never did anything special for them, they would still love me because they love ME.

It’s the same with you, my sister, you don’t have to try so hard. That goes for God and anyone else He has divinely placed in your life. More than what you do for them, they truly love YOU. God has given you favor in His eyes and theirs, and it’s not based on what you do or don’t do. They love you and that love isn’t going anywhere. So ease up and enjoy the Lord, enjoy your life, and enjoy the relational treasures He has given you!

Prayer: Father God, forgive me if I have frustrated your grace. Thank you for reminding me of your deep affection for me that is not performance-based. Keep me secure in your love and help me enjoy you, help me enjoy my life, and the relationships you have divinely given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

  2. Thank you so much for you message on today.. I know this was nothing but GOD to bring me back here today. I always have time or make time for others even if I have plans. I always think to myself what if something bad happens if I don’t take the time. Thank you so much.

  3. ❤️❤️❤️ thank you Lord for the reminder! It has always been in my nature to be a people pleaser. I’m trying to learn how to do what you have asked me to do and not just doing what eventually just wears me out! Jesus guide me by your spirit and not by my flesh. Help me discern what is sent by you and what I choose to take on! I just need you Lord❤️

  5. Amen. What a good subject and to bring to light for so many of us. When we believe we have to please people it’s exhausting. My issue wasn’t with others, it was the family I was born. I had to get intentional with healing for myself. I started putting up boundaries in place to keep my peace to get healthy. Having standards for my heart as well and my whole being. Thank You, Father, You’re helping me overcome people pleasing with the family I was born to. You know many told me I changed and then, I was selfish. I’m so glad You’re helping me with that concern. Then with others I was always distant, but I always tried to encourage if I saw someone down because I knew how it felt to be alone or feel lonely. But God, You helped me to know that I was accepted and I had to start sharing You with them for they will know Your love that is from everlasting to everlasting!!! Then, I started trying to interact with others. It’s so easy now, when it was hard without You. You’re “Love” is for all that accepts it and life is governed by Your Love Law. ❤️❤️❤️✝️

I agree with this prayer, God bless.💕💐💜💕💐💜💕💐💜

  6. Thank you for this devotional. I have felt a lot of sadness lately. Much of it has to do with pleasing others and then feeling short, then guilt, and sorrow. Round and round. I don’t feel strong enough to probably make the right decisions about my future . Your devotions help so thank you🙏 ❤️
