Never forget where you came from.

“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).” Ephesians 2:4-5

No matter how high or how far God takes you, never forget where you came from. I was born and raised in the heart of Atlanta, GA, in a neighborhood where drug dealers lived, prostitution wasn’t too far away, and it wasn’t safe to walk around at night. I was born at the roughest hospital in the state where no one wanted to go. I was raised by a single mother who wasn’t always there because she had to work hard to provide, and because she wasn’t there, I experienced molestation which opened the door to all kinds of evil.

The enemy tried his best to snatch me up early, but God came into my life at the age of twelve at a church revival that my mother took me to…no, dragged me to. It was at that revival that I encountered God’s presence and His overwhelming love in a way that I had never known before, and I wasn’t the same. The LORD didn’t just change my life, He gave me life. He gave me hope when I had none. He gave me a future. I cringe to think of where I would be today if it wasn’t for JESUS. He made the difference in my life.

And I haven’t forgotten. I haven’t forgotten where I come from. I haven’t forgotten how the LORD saved and rescued me, and that’s why I’m so passionate about reaching as many women as I can. I want to give women–young and old–the same encounter with the LORD that I had 25 years ago. Thinking if only I can get them to encounter the LORD and His overwhelming love and His holy presence as I did in that church revival their lives will never be the same.

I hear the LORD saying, “Do you remember how I saved you? Do you remember how I redeemed your life from a destructive path? Do you remember how I pulled you out of sin and placed your feet on a firm foundation in Me? You remembering is the secret to your humility. You remembering is the secret to your heart being filled with compassion and a longing to reach others. It will cause you to press forward into My divine purpose and plan for your life and glorify Me.”

  1. Thank you Jesus. I will never forget were I came from, and for what you did for me and through me, and gave me. In Jesus name Amen 🔱 🔯

  2. Amen! That is just beautiful! Thank the LORD that he came to you and you received him with an open mind and an open heart. May the LORD protect us and guide us forever!

  3. Thank you my sister for this encouraging word. Yes I remember where I came from and the point of brokenness and asking Jesus in. The transformation and journey has been a long one for me, because of strong controlling parents. But somehow through it all God gave me a soft tender and really sometimes too sensitive heart. I’m still facing some of these family strongholds but I know from so many times that God is always so faithful and sees me through. Please keep me in your prayers as I go (with a cold) tomorrow to see my very I’ll Dad and dealing with siblings that can be very abusive. I’m so grateful and thankful for all of my DOTK sisters. Blessings of great hope and peace on all of you 💜

    1. Peace & Blessings My Dearest Sister Lynne💖!!
Sometimes I wonder also Lynne, is my heart too sensitive? And it leaves the door open for people to “attempt” to take advantage of my kindness & see it as a weakness..especially when you’ve turned your life around & you don’t want to “go off or spazz out” then they’ll think I’m wrong..so I must continue to Pray..just as you must do today as you go & visit your Dad & see your siblings. I wish I was able to go with you, just for support! But I’ll be there in Spirit!
      Love Always💕
