No, You Need Peace

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3, NKJV.

I’ll never forget a season in my life when every time I went to the altar for prayer the minister would tell me that I needed peace. I would go to them and say, “I need prayer for wisdom because I’m having to make important decisions.” They would look at me and say, “No, you need peace.” Then I would go up to the altar again the next Sunday—this time to a different person—asking for prayer for my marriage and family. Same response, “No, you need peace.” After this happened several times, I became frustrated because I thought I already had peace. I asked my husband, “Do I look peaceful to you?” He smiled and said, “No, you look like you always have a lot on your mind.” I didn’t have peace at all because my mind was on everything but God.

The Lord began to teach me peace is more than a feeling. You can feel peace, but it is a knowing that everything is going to be alright because God is in control. Peace is resting in God’s love because you trust in His character and ability. Peace is what you walk in after you cast your cares on the Lord because you know He cares for you. It’s a song on your heart, it’s a pep in your step, it’s an attitude of confidence in the Lord.

My sister, we can choose not to worry. We can choose to receive the peace of God right in the middle of the storm because Jesus is our peace. His presence is peace. His words of life bring peace. Let’s fix our minds on His promises instead of the problems. Let’s speak His words from our mouths and declare peace over our lives and situations. He loves us, He’s with us and He is in full control.

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for speaking to my heart. You are my faithful God and I love you! Help me to keep my mind stayed on you. Keep me in your perfect peace. I can’t do anything in my own strength, so I put my confidence in your ability and your name. I cast my cares on you Father, you care for me. I put my trust in you and access by faith your peace that is abundantly provided because of Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.

  2. I feel as if God has been speaking to me for several days with the daily devotionals that have been posted. This one in particular about peace resonates deep in my soul. I have been struggling with some things for over a month. Been praying and sobbing my eyes out to the Lord. Giving him thanks for the blessings and asking for some healing. That ole devil has tried to rob my joy and my peace, but my God fights for me and his Holy Word tells me that there is power in the name of Jesus! Jesus who is the Lord of Lords, King of Kings, and the Prince of Peace. So I say thank you sister for your encouraging words in this devotional. Peace be with you. Amen 💜🙏

  5. Thank you for sharing
Yesterday was a great example God was showing me about His peace
Well the past 3 days I have been focused on His word His love and it was peaceful
Then yesterday I need a ride and my husband who doesn’t live with me picked me up and we have not talked the past 3 days
And the minute I get in his truck I can feel and see no peace he unleashes on me he talks to me like a kid in trouble tells me all the bad I have done
It hurts to know he can’t forgive
And yesterday he told me we are finished
Was this an answer I was waiting for from God
Lord I don’t want to make the wrong choice
So right now I do need HIS peace and leave all this at HIS feet
I do t wnat to be emotionally dragged along any more
    Keep me in prayer

  9. I really needed this my daughter is in hospital with blood clots in both her lungs. She also has pneumonia as well.

God has already spoken concerning the situation, and I am believing and trusting in him. The last two days she would be okay and then suddenly she can’t breathe. I have chosen not to believe what I see and hear, but to trust in God and take Him at his word. Even when the enemy is attacking my mind.

  10. Is there anything too hard for God. With man it is impossible, but with God, All things are possible. He is the creator of all things……trust Him and leave all your cares in Him.

  11. God Father, thank you for answering me , help me to focus on real peace which comes from you through Jesus, Amen 🙏
