Nothing can alter God's purpose and plans for your life.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV

Stephanie was going to be a doctor when she grew up. While playing on the playground, she said to her friends, “One day I’m going to be a doctor.” She told her parents. She told her neighbors. She even told her dog, Queenie. Everyone knew what she would be. When she became a teenager she got involved with the wrong group of girls and became pregnant. Three months later after giving birth to her first child, she became pregnant again and decided to drop out of school. Her dreams of becoming a doctor seemed so out of reach that she stopped talking about it to anyone. For her, everything stopped. Then one day she cried out to the Lord while sitting alone in her bedroom. Jesus came into her life and gave her a reason to hope again. Slowly the shame melted away. She knew with God’s help she could be anything God wanted her to be. Years later, she became a doctor and so did her two daughters.

Listen, I don’t care how messed up your life looks to you right now. I don’t care who you got involved with that took your life for a crazy ride. I don’t care how many babies you have, the education you didn’t receive, the many years that have gone by, or where you come from. You are special to God and He loves you. I declare you will accomplish everything God has purposed for you to accomplish by His grace. You are not too old, you are not too messed up, and you are not too far gone. It’s time you start talking again about who you will be and what you will do. It’s time you start dreaming again and pursuing those dreams. Never mind who believes in you or who doesn’t believe. Settle in your heart today that you will be somebody and you will not give up on your dreams.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for speaking to my heart. Remove all fear and shame from my life. Help me to rediscover your purpose and plan for my life. Give me hope and a future. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Meditate on this today: Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”)

    1. Glory to God in THE HIGHEST!!! THANK YOU FOR your obedience to share that message today. As I’ve been beating myself up this week, this message served as a less than gentle smack in the face! Although a harsh truth, a sweet reminder that My God loves me, and He cares about me, and most importantly… He wanted to encourage me. Again I am encouraged by this word from above and I’m excited not only about my own future, but that of the women who read this message and take to heart God’s Word… And we KNOW that all things work together for our good! (Romans 8:28)!!

      1. Amen, this is confirmation from The Lord, that He wants me to follow my hearts desire and to trust and have faith that He’s going to carry me through. I just turned 44 and we often question our abilities and if it’s too late. I have always wanted to be bcc an RN however, life took me in a different direction while I was younger, but I do not regret where I have come. I have been a single parent for 11yrs, so now that my children are all in college, this is a new chapter in my life and maybe I will fullfill my hearts desire as an RN one day. Please keep me in your prayers as my journey continues and that God will give me direction, love to you allπŸ’πŸ™πŸ’•

  3. I’m sitting here in the doctor’s office, where I work, unsure of my next step. Utterly upset at how I’ve allowed this job and the people to cause me to belittle the Spirit of God that is within me. The lies I tell in order to keep order in this place it disgusts me. The obscene jokes the outsiders cannot hear are tearing away at my heart. I’m wondering should I continue where I am? Is it time to move? Is this apart of His plan? Then I open DOK to hear the Spirit say “I know the plans I have for you.” It’s not an answer to my questions but it is a realization that “HE KNOWS” and right now at this very moment I can rest in the fact that “HE KNOWS”. I’ve always wanted to go back to school to pursue my dreams of becoming a psychiatrist. I thought my best years were behind me and that I should just settle with where I am but after hearing this today it assures me that I need only believe that God has a plan for me that has been implanted in me before I myself was manifested here physically. Thank you DOK for reminding me that He knows!

  4. We in a sense have got to get our groove back. God says He knew us before we were formed in or mother’s womb. Start dreaming and believing again. Step out on God’s word.

  5. This was the most touching post. This was for me. I knew it when the Lord used my name which is Stephanie. I will pursue my dream as being a light of God to others. Thank you. God bless

  9. First off I just want to thank God for giving you this message to share with us. Your message is exactly what I needed to hear today. I have been going through some personal battles, self doubt, etc. At 33 years old, 7 months pregnant with my first child, no college degree, no real career, no savings, bad credit; I have been on the edge of a breakdown. Not sure who to turn to and than, I received this message just to remind me that I still CAN accomplish all I had planned for myself with God by my side. This is the time for me to run to him even more so he can help clear up this confusion stage that I’m in. I thank God for you. Please keep me in prayer.

  11. Thank you for this message.. I really felt God speaking to me. Romans 8:28 is a verse that got me through some very difficult days after my battle with cancer and then a very difficult divorce from an abusive 33yr marriage. So this message has alot of meaning to me. God bless you! πŸ’—

    1. Kim…the same with me. Romans 8:28 was the source of my strength when I went through stage 4 cancer and beyond. God speaks through vessels such as this. He has a strategic plan for our lives. He just want us to TRUST him through the storm. He’ll be there waiting on the other side of our through. God bless all of you Beautiful Ladies.

  12. I felt I needed to read this devotional today and am hearing God’s voice in it. This story about Stephanie is similar to my story. I became pregnant early on in high school twice. I was forced to give up my daughter and then later an abortion. I’ve since reconnected with my daughter but it’s been a rough road. I’ve also been treated differently by my mom where the shame has been hard to release. But God has given me strength. I am pursuing my own business after raising my 3 sons and been sick with fibromyalgia. He is using that illness I once had for me to help others as a health coach. My business is struggling but I believe this is what God has called me to.
God is also breaking barriers between my mom and me but have a way to go. Also believing God to fully restore my daughter and me which has been strained. Pray for restored relationships all the way down to my sons and for success for my business. I’m so grateful for this ministry and to hear God speak through you. Blessings!

  13. Amen! Soooo timely! I decided to quit my job this week and pursue my dream of medicine as well. My boss was not very understanding or encouraging. Of course it made me angry but I remembered she doesn’t write my story God does!

  14. Amen amen sister. You spoke nothing but the truth. I just love and enjoy all these teachings. It helps me so much in ways that I can’t see yet but its all in God’s hands.
