Nothing's wrong with you!

“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7

Mood swings. Constantly second guessing myself. Racing thoughts. Feeling like I’m losing it. Crying about the silliest thing, while the smallest thing irritates me. What is wrong with me? I find myself rebuking the devil to leave me alone and crying out to God to help me. Confessing sins because obviously I’ve done something wrong to cause this. Then I soon discover my problem is not spiritual. It’s natural. I begin to recall, well I did just have a baby. And yes my sleeping has been off lately. And I am approaching my forties. No wonder I feel so off.

This understanding caused the light bulb to come on—nothing’s wrong with me. It’s my body that’s going through changes. Nothing’s wrong with my relationship with God. It’s my body that’s changing. I felt so relieved.

For any woman that is going through physical changes, I encourage you to become more knowledgeable about your body so that you don’t think something’s wrong with you. The right information will give you peace of mind. Real understanding will help you so that you don’t walk away from everything you love because you feel unfit. You are fit. You are the one God handpicked. You are His daughter and He loves you even on your worst day.

I pray you’ll reach the same conclusion, “Nothing’s wrong with me. It’s my body that’s going through changes.” Educate yourself. The more you know about your body, the more you’ll be able to handle different changes you are bound to go through.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for helping me see that I’m ok. My body is changing, but I love that you always remain the same. Help me understand the different changes my body will go through. Help me not trust in my emotions but trust in you. Wrap your arms around me when my body feels off. Reveal to me what it needs. Show me how to go through life’s changes gracefully and give me peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Knowing God

“‘“The fear of the Lord, that is wisdom”’” (Job 28:28).

Being wise begins with knowing God.

The fear of the Lord is your entrance to wisdom. It will prolong your life, fulfill your life, enrich your life—it is your life (cf. Prov. 10:27; 14:27). It will open the continual flow of God’s wisdom to you. The significance of everything is tied to the wisdom of God, which alone will give you proper values, guidance, instruction, and perspective in life. Apply His wisdom to your life daily, and enjoy all the benefits that wisdom has to offer.

    Suggestions for Prayer

Praise God for His wisdom by which you are so abundantly blessed.
