Number your days, my sister.

“Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom” Psalm 90:12, New Living Translation.

In a week, I will be turning 42 years old. What I have learned is to not take the life God has given me for granted. People my age and a lot younger than me are leaving this earth every day. While we desire and pray for a long life, the reality is we can leave here at any moment. We have to do what scripture says and learn to number our days. To number our days is to realize how life is a vapor—here today and gone tomorrow. Realizing the brevity of life will help us grow in wisdom and help us to make wiser choices. It will help us treat people better, treat ourselves better and live a more purposeful life. We move on from the past a lot quicker when we realize life is short. God’s desire is that we walk, not in fear, but with an awareness of the brevity of life. How would you live your life today if you if it was your last day? How would you treat people, how would you treat yourself, and what decisions would you make?

Prayer: Father, in comparison to eternity life is but a vapor. Help me learn to number my days. Help me grow in wisdom and make wiser choices. Help me treat people better and treat myself better. Help me move forward and live a more purposeful and meaningful life. My trust is in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Words of wisdom Sister Keisha, I’m now 83 approaching my 84th and wondered recently why I am still here, and why so many believers who are serving the Lord die early 🤔

    1. You my sister, still have a purpose. Pray that God will reveal it to you and that you complete it before your leave this earth
Life and it’s experiences are not just things that happen. Ask the Father He will reveal it to you.
      Be blessed.

  2. Thank You Father, for Your wise counsel, reminding us to number our days making better choices in each day!! Father, thank You for letting us know that it’s not selfish to want to treat ourselves better as we treat others like You want us too. Help me, Father, to do everything I do to do it as unto You. Remembering that each life is valuable because You have called us, giving purpose to each. That’s why it’s so important for us as individuals to be who You have created us to be uniquely. May I be the person You called me to be, so You will get the glory from my life.🙌🙌🙌
