Put Your Prayers in Past Tense

β€œ…Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, β€œFather, I thank You that You have heard Me..” John 11:41, NKJV.

Jesus’ words provide wonderful insight into how to receive from God. Right before commanding Lazarus to rise from the dead, Jesus thanked God, His Father, that He had already heard Him before a miracle ever took place.

God has already heard you. Already provided for you and given you everything you need that pertains to life and godliness in Christ. Thank Him for what He has already done through Jesus. Your situation will stay in your present until you begin to push it in the past. We must practice calling those things that be not as though they were (see Romans 4:17).
One day I was in desperate need of wisdom. Instead of praying, “Lord, please give me wisdom regarding this situation.” I remembered what the Holy Spirit had taught me, and said “Lord, I thank You that You have given me wisdom in this situation. I receive it now by faith.” Immediately wisdom began to flow. Another instance was when my family needed a financial breakthrough. I remembered the prayer of faith and said, “Lord, I thank You for providing supernaturally for my home.” I kept repeating it to myself until my faith kicked into gear. He provided supernaturally.

Keep speaking over your life…

“Lord, I thank You that You have supernaturally healed my body. I receive my healing now by faith.”
“Lord, I thank You for giving me wisdom and direction today. I receive it now by faith.”
“Lord, I thank You that you have given me supernatural favor and promotion. I receive it now by faith.”

When you thank someone, it shows you have received what’s been given. Receive what’s been given through Christ. We are called to live by faith, not by what we see, or hear, or feel. And we can appropriate by faith every redemptive right and any blessing God has provided us through Jesus by thanking Him for what He has already done.
Prayer: Father, thank You for teaching me how to receive from You and live by faith. Thank You that You have heard me. Thank You that You have healed and delivered me, and You have given me strength and wisdom. Thank You for helping me push everything I see in front of me, into the past, and walk in the victory I have in Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
