Rejoice even when you feel there’s nothing to rejoice about!

“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.” 1 Peter 4:12-13

While in prayer one morning, I asked God what did He want me to tell you. He said, “Tell them to rejoice!” I said Lord, how can I tell them that? So many are hurting right now. How can I tell them to rejoice? It seems like the last thing they want to do.” He said, “Exactly. The last thing they want to do is rejoice in Me, but rejoicing in Me is what I want them to do.”

You may feel as though you don’t have anything to rejoice about, but we always have reason to rejoice in the Lord. Our rejoicing gives way to worship, it gives way to sacrificial praise and brings about a breakthrough. In my life, I’ve had to rejoice when I didn’t see any manifestation. It was an act of my faith in God.

So it is with you. Your rejoicing is an act of your faith. It puts your entire focus away from your problems and onto God. It magnifies God and brings Him on the scene.

Prayer: Father God, I know you are my God and you won’t let me down. You will do everything you’ve promised. Help me to rejoice in you by faith and continue to rejoice until I see manifestation in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Rejoice!!! Yes, we should rejoice in ALL things. This is a difficult time for all and extra for others like me. I recently lost my dad to Covid and I rejoice in knowing that he is with his Lord and I will see him again! I rejoice in the peace and comfort that God has given me. I rejoice in the good and bad because ” We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose. ” Roman’s 8:28 That doesn’t mean I’m happy all the time but that I can trust God all the time.

    1. My dear sister in Christ

Cheryl your comment is accurate and succinct.

May God continue to bless, comfort, and through it all-bring you joy… weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. We were created for God’s good pleasure to worship, praise, honor, exalt Him to all the world- through the “good, the bad, and the ugly.” It is ALL for His glory.

May God bless you abundantly that your cup runneth over.

  2. Thank you for that devotional. The last thing I feel like doing is rejoicing, but will do so regardless of how I feel. The Lord is good – He won’t let go.

  5. This is confirmation…on my way to work this morning the LORD called to my mind the Psalms….”oh magnify the Lord with me.”…..”I will bless the LORD at all times; HIS praises shall continually be in my mouth”……

  6. Amen 🙏 what an awesome 👏 god we serve. During these times we got to hold unto our faith. The devil 👿 is busy. Never question God when he send you put on your whole armor of God and go where he send you to tell the world that salvation is free and this too shall pass. Have a blessed day 🙏❤️

  7. I feel better when I am rejoicing in God and I feel better when I wake up every morning and I feel good inside and out and I’m so grateful for my life today. Because I know God has a purpose for me to be inspiring to other people who believe in God and Jesus Christ.

  8. For me, this brings back to mind the concept of the belief system, aka as the “law of attraction.” “Believe and you shall receive”, says the Lord. He also says, Rejoice even in times of sorrow. I think that’s because whatever energy you put out is going to be exactly what you get back. Think of it as sowing and reaping. If you sow sorrow 😢when times are tough, you’re only going to get more sorrow😭 but if you decide to stay positive and sow joy,🙂 then more joy is what you shall reap😃 So, we can therefore conclude that it is during times of struggle, throughout all trials and tribulations we face in this world that is most important to rejoice. The good Lord says to act as if you have already received what it is your heart desires and it shall surely be yours. 🙏☝️ Thank You andGod Bless,. Lindsey

  9. Lord, help me to remember that Your joy is my strength. Please put an extra prep in my step and a song in my heart as I run to You.

As we rejoice Lord, help Your daughters to remember everything that is not of You will fall and fail. To You Lord be the Glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Thank You.

    Blessings, Shalom and Agape.
