Resist fear, and choose to only believe.

“While He was still speaking, messengers from the house of Jairus arrived and said, “Your daughter is dead; why bother the Teacher anymore?” But Jesus overheard their conversation and said to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just believe.”” Mark‬ ‭5‬:‭35‬-‭36‬, Berean Study Bible

As soon as we hear the bad news, the Lord is just as quickly informing our spirit of His covenant promise. Even when our minds are reeling from what we heard, we are being informed of His truth. Our hearts will remain fixed trusting in the Lord, as He brings to our remembrance all He has shown us and spoken over our lives. The news might’ve informed our minds, but the Lord is our very present help who informs us of His constant presence, His love and His promise.

The Lord is our faithful friend who walks with us as He did with Jairus. The news of his daughter’s death came but before fear and hopelessness could grip him, the Lord just as quickly said to him, “Do not be afraid, only believe” and his daughter was healed.

My sister, as we walk together with the Lord, we must resist fear, and choose to only believe. Let’s believe in the character of our God and His faithfulness. Let’s stay close to Him in this hour. Very close as He holds our hand on the way to doing what He promised He would do.

“He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD” Psalms 112:7, ESV.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalms 46:1

“He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being right here by my side. I receive and welcome the companionship of your Holy Spirit walking closely with me. As I hear bad news, I choose to give ear to you and your instruction to not fear. I receive your help to believe you will do what you promised. Thank you Lord. I love you with all my heart. There is no room in it to be full of fear. Only full of you. In your name I pray, Amen.
